earthmother Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 For the past two days I've had extreme flu-like symptoms with no fever. Every part of my body aches as if I have a 104 temp, I am getting major night sweats and chills in the middle of the night but no fever. I am miserable and I completely went off on my dear family last night when they couldn't figure out how to get food for themselves. Just thought I would put it out there in case anyone has had this experience. I've just never felt this miserable without an accompanying fever. ugh Quote

Jann in TX Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Apparently it is some strain of the flu. No fever--but we felt horrid anyway! I remember having chills and sweats and thinking that the new thermometer was just not working... Hope you are feeling better soon...it lasted about 8 days for us here--hope you don't have the same thing! Quote
abbeyej Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 If it were me, I'd be camping out at the doctor's office til someone saw me... Come on, Pam, be serious! ;) If it were *you*, you'd still be going to school and taking care of a pre-schooler and worrying about your other kids and taking care of the house and your hubby... And thinking about how you *should* go and camp out at the doctor's office till someone saw you... But you'd be "too busy" with "too many responsibilities"... ;) You know, till you fell down in a puddle and someone had to scrape you off the floor and you were far worse off than you would have been if you'd just gone and camped out at the doctor's office first! ... Right? ;) Quote

Right? ;) Yes. Right. Busted. *sigh* You know me WAY too well, you realize that? But I had first typed, "You need to go to the doctor and camp out in the waiting room til someone sees you." But then I thought that was either 1) too much fear-mongering, like I "know" something's wrong or 2) too bossy. So I turned it to "If I were you, I might..." to be less of a mother hen. I've had to come here and get courage to face Doogie Howser my former dismissive M.D. before, so yeah. *sigh again* I don't even HAVE a doctor here, according to my insurance company. Maybe I should take care of that today. Quote
Jenny in Atl Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Sounds like what we had. A couple times I really thought I had a fever but if I did it was like 100... I took about a week for the night sweats to stop. I finally feel like a real human again two weeks out. I think it's the Aussie flu? Quote
