Mom22ns
We're planning to use History of US for 7th grade next year. I don't think 8th is too old for it at all.
siloam
Would American Story be too simple for a 5th grader? How about the History of US for an 8th grader? The Betsy Maestro books are great, but not a 5th grade level. I wouldn't hesitate to use them with a 5th grader, they would just need something more in addition to them. The whole AS 1 program? I pretty much feel the same way. It is good, but a 5th grader probably needs more meat. I did it with a 3rd grader and added lapbooks and History of the US. Though she is a history buff so she loved all that. Is there a reason why she couldn't consider the All American package? It was created for just this situation. It combines the American Crossings and AS 1 in a package that is all laid out for you. Heather
