I'm using Galloping the Globe this year, but looking for a switch next school year. What are some user-friendly curriculum that I can do with all my dc? They will be 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 7th. Thanks so much!

There is also a Trail Guide to World Geography. You can check both of them out at this link. And there are sample lessons.

We started using the the U.S. one halfway through a school year, and spent a year and a half on US geography. We are currently working our way through the world book this year.

I second the Trail Guides. THey are a one-time purchase, and I use them every week! I am using Trail Guide to World Geography with Sonlight 5, and when we go back to TruthQuest this fall, we will use Trail Guide to US Geography.

Love the flexibility, creative ideas, and the fact that my dd can do this mostly independently (her preference.)

I would schedule one book per year, but I only do subjects like geography once a week. Each book has 80 pages or less, if memory serves, so you could probably do one a semester, at least for the older kids.

Thanks for that! This looks like something that'll work for us.

This inexpensive book divided the world into continents. Students had to use various reference materials (atlas, encyclopedia, computer) to answer questions about political, geological, and historical particulars of each continent. I liked how it made them research for their own answers, and I liked that it had separate sets of questions for various age groups.

I did not like how it treated Protestant/Catholic issues. I wouldn't have thought to worry about that in a geography text, but there it is. We skipped over those questions.
