stephanier.1765
Is a 13 yo too old for Lego Mindstorms? Some of the kits say 15 and older but it seems as if all the challenges are for younger children so I'm a bit confused about which age is best. Also, if money wasn't an issue, would you get the retail package or the educator package? Would another type of robotic kit be better? Honestly, I'm more interested in tying this in with our physical science for next year so a kit or curriculum that focuses on gears and ratios, levers, torque, etc. and experiments with these would be exactly what I'm looking for. I'd like more focus on how the robot works rather than the programming (but I don't want to eliminate the programming either). Sigh, it's all so complicated. Thanks for your help. Starr
My ds received one for his 13th birthday. While he could've used it earlier he is busy building and programming. He doesn't need help at this age to figure everything out. :D
