Alison in KY
How easy is it to use Bob Jones English and skip the writing portions? I'm looking at the grade 4 level for a 10 yr old. Would it make sense if I skipped the writing lessons? He's currently using WWE 2 and I plan on buying WWE 3 this fall. TIA, Alison
mom31257
I did this with my 6th grader half way through this year. She was really not enjoying writing at all, even though she does tons of it on her own. I purchased Apologia's Jump In, and she loves it. We just finished out all of BJU's grammar chapters and skipped the writing. There were no problems with the chapter tests or anything. I'm still going to use all the grammar stuff in BJU's 7th grade book next year because I had all ready bought the TM at an awesome price. She'll continue the Jump In for her writing. Kim in SouthGa
We do this also, just be aware that some of the questions on the tests and cumulative reviews will be on those chapters, so you may want to go through and mark them out before she takes it. TracyR
Yes, you can skip the writing in BJU's English and just do the grammar.
