Staci in CT Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 My 11th grader is taking calculus this year. She was slated to take AP Stats through PA Homeschoolers in her senior year. However, neither the statistics, nor the computer science teachers will be able to teach through PA Homeschoolers next year. Can anyone recommend a suitable replacement? I'm looking for a first-hand recommendation through an alternative online school such as EPGY, CTY, CTD, Apex, IU, Missouri, Keystone, Oklahoma, or FLVS. Please let me know if your child took this actual course through any on the listed (or other) schools. Thanks so much for any help. Staci in CT P.S. Gwen in VA, I PM'd you. Quote
Blue Hen Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 What's up with PA HS'ers? Why won't the Stat or CIS teacher be there next year? If you don't want to post here please send me a PM. The CIS course was one I was thinking having my DS take. He's presently taking their AP BIO course. Carole Quote
Staci in CT Posted March 2, 2008 Author Posted March 2, 2008 I'm not sure why, but Mrs. Richman told me they just wouldn't be teaching next year. I think they may be too busy. PA is looking for new teachers, but there is no guarantee they will find qualified individuals. I hope you find a substitute CIS teacher. I love the PA courses. Every one we've taken has been such high quality with great teachers. Staci Quote
Blue Hen Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I use to teach college stat classes but I'm not sure I'm ready to commit to being in charge of a class of hs kids getting ready for the AP test. Might be fun though! Quote
Staci in CT Posted March 3, 2008 Author Posted March 3, 2008 Meanwhile, I think my dd will have to take stats at a nearby University. Quote
