Mekanamom Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 I need to be better about putting sunscreen on my face. I can't stand greasy, oily lotions though. What's the best sunscreen for a person's face? Preferably one that can go on under mineral make-up? Most of the moisturizers I've seen that contain sunscreen are only SPF 15. Is that really enough protection? What do you all recommend? Quote
Valerie in Chicago Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 has *extremely* sensitive skin. Everything breaks her break out, and really horribly too! The ONLY sunscreen that she's found that does not do this is Mary Kay's. They have a 30 SPF too. Quote
PiCO Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 The dry sunscreens make my skin itch. I'm not out much during the high-sun hours though, and I want to make sure I get enough vitamin D- so I don't worry too much about sunscreen. Quote
Mekanamom Posted March 2, 2008 Author Posted March 2, 2008 Thanks! I will check out the Mary Kay. I do often wear a baseball cap or a visor, but in nice weather I'm out in the sun all the time with the horses and the ranch critters... I tan a lot easier than I burn but I know I could protect myself more. The other issue with the really greasy sunscreen is that since I'm usually out working, there is often a lot of dust flying around. I'd rather not have it all sticking to my face!! My oldest dd is also just getting to the point where she will need something less greasy on her face than the standard sunscreen as well... she's starting to break out a bit just from being a pre-teen. It would be nice to have something effective to just get into the routine of using daily... I'd like to use it even on days I wear make-up to go out... thanks for the suggestions! Off to look at the Mary Kay website! Quote
3littlekeets Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 If you want something that can be picked up about anywhere, Neutrogena Dry Touch 55 is wonderful, but it can burn. I often use Hawaiian Tropics Oil Free Faces (55 think) in a pinch. But, to be honest, I'm very partial to Euro sunscreens that must be ordered online. Avene and Bioderma are my favorites, and they are much stronger in terms of stability and UVA protection than US sunscreens. I've been ordering from Tubotica for years and have gotten amazing service. My skin looks much better when I wear the above two, and they are cosmetically elegant! Quote
Ellie Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I forget which one it is, but you can tell by reading the label. I love this stuff. Quote
