mrscopterdoc Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 It's just me and dd [hubby is gone yet again] and we are getting over being sick. We aren't doing anything this weekend, just wondering if anyone was? Let me live vicariously through you!:D Quote
PariSarah Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Shh. Don't tell! We'll probably go out to a sports bar for the Duke game, and then do a few other family things this weekend. Hopefully, g'mommy will feel like eating out a lot, since her diet is almost diametrically opposite to ours. (Not to mention loads more expensive.) And she's going to buy him a bike. He'll be very, very happy. Quote
~Tara~ Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Ummm BMXing here. We'll, *I* will just be watching ;) (see avatar) But my guys will all be racing. I know someone else from the board has a little someone BMXing this weekend as well. *Good luck little man!* Even though I know they're already gone as they had to travel a bit to this one. Don't know if that was quite what you had in mind. hehe Quote
Mom2legomaniacs Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Fun! I am going to RELAX and unwind this weekend. I decided to take a spring break next week (we really need it). Dh is going to take the kids geo-caching sometime this weekend. And he will likely take them to a movie too. THey are going to handle some house work for me so I can take it easy. I am really looking forward to chilling out and being peaceful, you know! Quote
mrscopterdoc Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 BMXing actually sounds awesome! We would be going to a Taekwondo tournament today but dd decided to take it easy competing this season. Quote

Kelli in TN Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Wow. This is exciting. I am going to get dressed. Then I am going to go to the farmer's market to meet the milk truck. Then I am going to the bread store. Then I am coming home to do laundry. Sometime today I am going to bathe the dogs. Woo-hoo! Quote
OnTheBrink Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 My exciting plans include getting dressed, doing some laundry, cleaning my bedroom and then listening to dd lament over having to clean her room. Good times! Quote
Plaid Dad Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Digging out from the latest snowstorm ::sigh:: and going to a potluck. Hey, it's not Hollywood, but it's a life, right? ;) Quote
MomofSeven Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 then after he comes home all 8 of us are going to Brusters for our free waffle cone to celebrate Pajama Day. This afternoon we'll be watching the Penguins game. Tomorrow my dh snagged 4 tickets for the Penguins game and he's taking the 3 oldest...they don't know yet, it's a huge surprise. For me, I'm just putzin' around the house doin' a little of this and that, laundry, cleaning bathrooms, etc. But I'm enjoying the peace and quiet:) Quote
MomofSeven Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Dh is finally installing plantation shutters on my family room windows...I can't wait! Quote
JudoMom Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 I've got my first hair appointment with a stylist since high school (I usually go to Great Clips type places) this afternoon. We've got a banquet tonight at church, and tomorrow night we have small group. We always host (6 other couples), but tomorrow night is my night to provide dinner and dessert as well. I'll be cleaning in between our other commitments. It's supposed to get up to 67* today (tomorrow it's 34* & snow), so I plan to open the windows and air out the house and clean. Dh and the boys are getting the garden and flower beds ready. And if all of that is not exciting, I don't know what is :p. Quote
LizzyBee Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 We're going to the NCSU vs. MD women's basketball game tomorrow. It's interesting going to the games down here as MD fans. :D Quote
Susie in SWVA Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 We already had our fun for the weekend. Last night we drove 2 hours (4 round trip) to a Celtic Woman concert. Absolutely fabulous!!!!! Susie in SWVA Quote

Jann in TX Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 taught by our very own WriterGirl (formerly known as Julie in Georgetown). It will be about a 1.5 hour drive...but it should be fun! DH will take our other 2 dd's (17 and 6) to our local 'Market Days'--a HUGE event around here (400-500 booths). Quote
hsmamainva Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 My oldest is taking her SAT exam as we speak -- and she's praying she does well!! mrscopterdoc Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 I feel your pain! We were just there! Just now starting to feel better. I will be thinking of you and your kiddos. Quote
8filltheheart Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Unpacking all the moving boxes in the garage......uggghhhhh......that has got to be the worst unpacking job ever. My dh has a zillion tools, screws, nuts, bolts, etc. Kids outdoor toys. Hoses, gardening tools. And there are probably 50 boxes. Just came in for lunch. :) BTW....I am unpacking them and not dh b/c he is busy trying to finish fencing in the back yard b/c our oldest ds (who is on spring break next week) is coming to see our new house and bringing our 2 big dogs with him (a friend has been dog sitting since the end of Jan.) Quote
awanama Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 My husband has to work this weekend, but we are leaving for Springfield, MO on Monday for a much needed getaway. The kids are staying home with grandma. My husband has a class he will attend during the day and then we will have the evenings to do what we want. I'm planning on shopping while he is in classes Tuesday and Wednesday! Quote
WTMindy Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 in fact last weekend dh asked me, "What do normal people do on the weekends?" We were both reading and/or playing around on the computer. Today we are going to see a CYT play this afternoon. It should be fun because a bunch of dd's CYT friends are in it. She didn't audition for this show. Quote
GaJeannie Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Hi, Dh took oldest dd on a much anticipated date to the Carrie Underwood concert last night. The littles and I had much more fun for sure. ;)We went to Dollar General toy aisle where they could choose surprises that add up to "a 5." Then to BK. Woohoo. Nightlife in our small town can't be beat. heehee. Tonight, we're cooking out on our new grill....and just spent the last few hours cleaning up The Yard with 30 Pine Trees from the storm that rushed in earlier this week. My aching back....It's beautiful weather here, though. Happy Saturday! Quote

PrairieAir Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 We just got back from Columbia, MO about an hour and a half ago. We left Friday around 1pm, checked in at our hotel, went to the college gymnastics meet at Mizzou, back to the hotel, dd's hair up in curlers, up bright and early this morning to head back to Mizzou for dd's gymnastics meet at 8am, done with the meet at 11:30, stopped for lunch at KFC, and made the long drive home again. 17yods and his friend took 13yods to a wrestling tournament nearby while we were gone so dh and I could make the longer drive together. Whew! I'm ready to spend tomorrow doing nothing. Unfortunately there is more to do. Quote
Nancy in MI Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Saturday-boys have martial arts, I sing at church, and dh works. Evening at home. Sunday-church (I work all morning in the cafe), scout meeting and grocery shopping, visit fil at VA, evening at home. Sometime in there I need to clean up the nice throw-up piles the kitty left in the basement. Nice, huh? :) Nancy Quote
Pam "SFSOM" in TN Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Yes! Ds is home from college for a week, and he and I sneaked away over to Asheville this evening for dinner and just hanging out with dd (15). It was a sweet, sweet time. And once again I was told emphatically and specifically how much they appreciate our family and how strong its bond is. I so adore my kids. And I miss them terribly when they're away. Oh, and I attended the Atlantic Sun Indoor Track and Field Championships this afternoon with dd (4) and ds. Quote
Mrs Mungo Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 This morning we hiked up Diamond Head. Then we came home, showered and went out to eat with some friends. Tomorrow we're off to the beach! My hubby's leaving Monday (just for an FTX, not long term) so we're trying to get in some fun time. Quote
