swellmomma
Fruday night I found the solution to make sure all your housework gets done in one night. It is an easy 5 step recipe for success: 1. Combine 3 kids with colds, an "end of school year party" and a dinner of pizza and chips. 2. Start cleaning up vomit when child A starts coughing too hard, this ensures your mainfloor bathroom gets cleaned immediately 3. While cleaning mainfloor bathroom have child A and baby go have a bath together. Assume Child A closes the shower curtain AND turns off the water when tub is full. As water now pours through the vents onto the mainfloor, realize child A has flooded the ENTIRE upstairs level. Drain tub, clean all bedrooms, hallway and bathroom. Anything left on bedroom floors is now wet and must be laundred, or tossed (colouring books, papers etc). Mop all floors, which now means all upper level floors are clear and shining. Mainfloor bathroom is also remopped to deal with the water dripping through the vent. 4. While cleaning up the upper floor send Child A to bed, leave baby, and other 2 kids alone in livingroom to play. Come running when Child B screams, "the baby is puking". This has resulted in several sections of the livingroom floor, the couch cover, and the coffee table all being covered. Send Child B upstairs with baby with instructions on giving her another bath, including reminders to turn off the water. Proceed to strip couch, adding cover to large laundry pile of dripping wet items from the flood. Clean coffee table (and all large toys just in case) with antibacterial wipes, mop floor. 5. Start washing all this new laundry before it has time to get mildewy etc over night. Keep mind dryer is broken and all items must be hung throughout the house to dry. This makes sure that all flat surfaces in house have been cleared and wiped down to prevent any dust etc sticking to this wet items. at 10 pm realize this is going to be a very long night, and take Child B and baby to blockbuster to rent several movies while Child A and child C sleep happily. Do this for most of the night, get up bright and early to check which clothing hangin up is now dry ready to be replaced with other loads today. Be prepared for another long day as the 2 children that have already awoken this am have fevers. Start dreaming about when you used to stay awake all long weekend long because you were having fun with friends, not because you were dealing with sick kids. On the plus side once the weekend is over, I will have the cleanest house on the block.

You made the story so humorous, but I know it must have been a difficult night. Bless you. you are probably running on adrenaline at this point. rest while you can.
