Dinner cooks so much faster when the ovens on

Recommended Posts

It's official, I've completely lost my mind. I just went into the kitchen to start preparing the rest of our dinner and realized that the meat I was "cooking" wasn't even close to being done.

When am I going to remember that food cooks much faster when heat is applied to it. I can't believe I didn't turn on the oven, especially since I spent sooo much time trying to make sure the temperature was at the correct setting (numbers on the dial are really faded and apparently so is my brain).:banghead:

That is so funny because I just did the same thing! I had the pizza bagels (yes, I know - terribly gourmet) all prepped and ready to go in the oven and then realized I forgot to pre-heat it. I guess that's not as bad as putting it in a cold oven and wondering why it's not cooking. Sounds like you need a vacation!

Not that the "planned" dinner was elegant or even terribly exciting, I just can't believe with all the time I spent looking at the stupid temperature dial I forgot to turn on the over.

Well, they're now dining on a delicious dinner leftover chili that I had the foresight to freeze a couple of week ago.:)

At this point, beggars can't be choosy.

BTDT! I ruined a Wolfgang Puck pan by putting the steamer basket in it, putting the broccolini in it, putting it on the stove and turning on the heat.

Forgot the water for steaming. Scorched veggie, warped pan. :glare:

Now that is sad. I mean the pan, not the fact that you forgot to add the water.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I usually put something in the oven on really low heat before I leave the house to run everyone around for their activities. We are starving by the time we get home. So, the times I have done that my children acted like someone should turn me in for child abuse.
