CalicoKat
I've got an approx. 14 lb box of books I'm selling--how do you figure in the shipping costs before hand so you don't loose out at the post office?
Pajama Mama
Is this for this board or e*ay? I think on e*ay has a calculator on a post that the bidder can type in their zip code and it will give them the shipping costs. If you are selling here, I would pick an acceptable total beforehand or tell the buyer that you will get back to them with the shipping after getting their zip code. If you pick the amount, you should pick enough to where it can be shipped anywhere in the continental U.S. ETA: Go to the post office website and type in the dimensions of the box and the total weight. Since you live in the middle of the country I'm assuming it would cost around the same if you mailed it to CA or FL. Mrs Mungo
Will it fit in a flat-rate box? Then you don't have to worry about it, even if it's going to Alaska or Hawaii.

Nestof3
Media rate is not based on location -- only pounds. From Virginia to Hawaii or from Virginia to Virginia, 14 pounds is $7.45. http://postcalc.usps.gov/ Edited May 13, 2009 by nestof3

Like I edited in, go to thepost office website and type in the type of box and the weight. Also, check and see which type of shipping is cheaper. I've had times that parcel post was cheaper than media mail.
