momto4kings
For various reasons, I've decided to send my oldest son to ps next year. He'll be going into the 8th grade. He is currently doing TT Algebra1 and is half way through the book. He is averaging a high B. He'll be taking a math placement test next month and I'm worried that he won't do well on it. I looked briefly at a friend's 7th grade book yesterday and it seems there are things we haven't covered, even though it sounds so good to say he is in Algebra 1. Anyone can tell me what I need to be reviewing/teaching him before the test so he can at least place at grade level? We are in CA. Thanks ALOT! KathyBC
You need to test into grade 8 in California? Interesting. Where I live, you go down to the school with your child's birth certificate and proof of residence and they are placed based on age, regardless of performance. A quick google search turned up these and these released test questions for grade 7 math. HTH?
