CalicoKat
Is this worth it? I walk, elliptical trainer, count calories -- would a couple visits with a trainer be helpful? Just trying to be healthy -- my goal is to see if I can't drop some of my medications as I drop weight. It's a budget thing. :D
PCA
I have a degree in Exercise Physiology and am an overall natural health and nutrition advocate :) This is what I would recommend: To drop some medications, lose weight and increase overall health, I would recommend changing your diet and nutririon, and start an exercise program with weights and or weight bearing activities. As far as the exercises I would look into P90X. Or some personal trainers can help you. But if you are trying to save money you may want to look into p90x. Not sure what medications you are on, but if you have heart problems you of course want to speak to your physician before starting an intense program. As far as nutrition, do away with all foods in a box and sugar. Make vegetable smoothies every morning for breakfast. Drink only water, about 10 glasses per day. Increase your raw vegetable intake. If you are doing all these things, you should see a dramatic change in about 2-4 weeks. Hope that helps!
Danestress
but mostly because it makes me stay committed to working out. I know I'm paying for it whether I show up or not, so I show up. And I never work out as hard on my own as I do when I am with him. He really makes me work. We do a lot of exercises that combine strength training with balance, and it's always fun. That said, I bought a package of 10 sessions. After I go through those, I might try working out on my own for a while just to save the money. It is expensive. That just doesn't sound very tasty, but it sounds healthy! :)
PCA
P90x is an amazing body-transforming exercise program that you can do at home. I have seen unbelievable results from this (including myself and husband). I would recommend it to everybody! You can google it to learn more. I have made vegetable smoothies for my family for the last 5 years. I have seen SO many wonderful changes in my body just from drinking these everyday. My children are ages 1, 3, 5 and 7, they love them and drink them every morning. The smoothie is made up of: spinach, kale, carrots, parsley, banana, flaxseed, dehydrated vegetable powder, pinch of stevia, and sometimes cabbage, broccoli and other veges depending on the season. Your vegetable intake is so much great when you take them as a liquid. I blend these all up in my vita-mix. It really tastes good!
