BMW
If, like me, you get sidetracked or just procrastinate... or whatever... and you end up not getting things done that you want/need to do... and then it piles up (like a very messy garage... VERY messy)... and you need to be encouraged and take smaller parts of the challenge... join me in this challenge... within the next 24 hours wipe down your washer and dryer IF you can, sweep around them and put away anything that is not supposed to be there within 24-48 hours anyone in? ~Tara~
I'm in. These kinds of challenges are good for me. I used to post such things on a forum I was a part of a few years ago. We always enjoyed it. :)
MeanestMomInMidwest
I'm IN! This will take me a long time, I think (trying not to get discouraged before I even start). My laundry room is stuffed full of stuff....most of it not laundry related. The counter my dh gave me so I could fold down there is...well, I wonder if it really is still there at all. I just see a mound of junk. Good challenge! My 24 hours starts NOW.
Aubrey
Oh, I love you! Mine don't need much, but this kind of challenge? Where houskeeping is social & fun, like a combo of the boards & a video game? I'm less distressed when I look at the chaos that follows 15 min behind everything I do. I figure my level's just been upped. ;)
BMW
okay, meanestmominthemidwest... deep breath... relax... just wipe down the machines to start with! nice, clean machines! then just handle one pile a day... if you keep doing that each day you will make a difference! You can do it! and I wont even tell you what shoes to wear or that you have to pick out clothes for tomorrow... just relax and do this with me! slug hollow
I. can. do this!
Aunty Social
Now this I can handle! The rest of the house (there is a house under all that stuff, right?) will be problematic, but my laundry room is the one place I can guarantee I won't be bothered - and won't collect anyone's mess but my own - you'd think the swine flu originated from in there the way the rest of the family treat it:D. Thanks for making it fun!
Julie in CA
okay, meanestmominthemidwest...deep breath... relax... just wipe down the machines to start with! nice, clean machines! then just handle one pile a day... Good suggestions! You can also get out your timer, and work 15 minutes at a time a few times today. You can get more done than you think, by taking one bite at a time. You can do it! :grouphug::hurray::party: ETA: I think I meant to put this under meanestmominthemidwest....
MeanestMomInMidwest
Well, it took me a while, but I found the countertop! I threw out some stuff and ran up & down the stairs quite a few times to put other stuff away (who knew that's where the old swimsuits were?). And how on earth does the top of the washer get so filthy? Yech. I do feel a sense of accomplishment. Tomorrow, the cupboards...They appear to be stuffed full of misc items. These cupboards were intended to hold laundry stuff, like soap, dryer sheets, etc. I could not fit the laundry stuff in the cupboards. go figure. So one project done, another one scheduled for tomorrow. Thanks for the encouragement!
Guest Virginia Dawn
I did the laundry room on spring break. It took me all week, but I even washed the walls and base boards. Now if someone would post a bedroom cleaning challenge, I could really use that. I can't see the surface of my dresser.
BMW
I've been having trouble being self motivated... even with good lists and all... So, I thought I'd post little challenges for us all to enjoy... bee
Year Round Mom
I'm in! I just had a lady from church here today to help me organize my bedroom, which is always the messiest room in our house. She advertised on our local homeschool yahoo group. She charges $10/hr and was here 4 hrs. I was so glad to help out a fellow hs'ing mom and clean my room (I'm soooo externally motivated). I want to keep the ball rolling, though, and get my house livable by July, when I start hs'ing *officially* :) Thanks for the encouragement! Keep them comin'!!! amydavis
This is just what I needed! I'm going to be home most of tomorrow, and now I have a goal! Let's keep doing these!
Luanne
This is an easy task for me though because I just cleaned them off less than a week ago. I removed all the stuff that was piled on them and wiped them down. There are only a couple things on them right now.
