Anna
For those who collect and use FiestaWare-- What do your dishes look like after they get a chip on them? I was thinking of purchasing FiestaWare instead of a white set like this: http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=14174&f=1667 but I'm wondering about those chips. I love the look of FiestaWare but don't want to end up with beautifully colored dishes with ugly white chips all over them. Do tell!
Goldilocks
We use Fiesta Ware as our every day dishes. My children use them, clear the table, load the dishwasher, etc. and I can only think of one bowl that has a chip. A few pieces have broken, but only that one chip. KS_
We've had our Fiestaware for several years now, and the only piece that has a chip is a small dipping bowl (not even something we use often) that ds rammed against another dish when he was putting it into the dishwasher. Granted, the kids have their own set of Corelle dishes they use for breakfast and lunch, but the Fiestaware has gotten a lot of use and really doesn't seem to chip easily. mooooom
and there were extenuating circumstances - and heights involved. They are very bright, very durable, don't scratch. They are awesome dishes. And they are not made in China
melhouse
I love the looks of my Fiesta-ware. I have used it for years and no chips. I'm ready to put it up for a while, though because it takes up so much space, and it's so heavy. I can't decide what to use instead.:tongue_smilie: HTH, Melissa

Thanks! :001_smile: (And now back to your regularly scheduled thread.) Cat We have had ours for only about 2 yrs but no chips. I love them. Here is where I got mine http://www.zestydishes.com I looked on line for a long time and it was the cheapest at the time. You can get sets mix and match anyway you want, they will even exchange pieces in the set(one type of mug for another). They were very good to work with. You do need to call to get much of this accomplished though. When I got mine there was a mistake in what they had ordered. They told me to keep the mistakes and they sent me the replacements.(I have lots of mugs now!)
Mothersweets
We've had our Fiestaware for 6 years now and don't have chips, either. We've broken a few pieces but just like the other posters said, it's kinda hard to chip. Sandy and Michelle - thanks for posting those links! Brilliant
Another Fiesta user here, for 8 years...and not a single chip. If I ever did get a chip - I'd throw the dish away rather than use a defiled dish. :) I love, love, love my Fiestaware, and wouldn't want to use a chipped piece. I buy mine at either http://www.megachina.com or http://www.amazon.com. If you are looking for just one place setting, it's often cheaper to get it from Amazon w/ free shipping. (usually the place settings are less than $25 - I have Prime so that doesn't matter - but you can always add a book to your order!). If you are just starting out & need several place settings, I think Megachina is cheaper. But Amazon runs sales on various colors periodically. I like to take pictures of my food: (well, my link isn't working - I'm using the "image" button...anyway you can click on my blog to see my latest food pictures. ;) ) Edited May 12, 2009 by OC Mom
Michelle in AL
Fiesta Ware plates and all can go in to the oven, up to 500 degrees I think. They make bakeware too. I have the 9x9 pan and love it, cuz it's red :D
