  2. DD10 is in Expo 1 with WTMA this year, but she has also done several Bravewriter classes for creative writing, and took a Greek History class with G3 last summer, and Grammar Town this past semester also at G3. She is one of those kids that enjoys rigor and accountability though, so she actually didn’t enjoy not having grades for her assignments. I think it made her feel like the teachers didn’t “really care†if you completed the homework or not. There were also a couple of younger and kind of silly kids in both of those classes that the teacher spent a lot of time redirecting. I think she wants to stick with WTMA for now, but it’s a shame since G3 has some great class offerings. Oh, and she didn’t enjoy that the G3 didn’t have live video of the professors. Not sure if they’re all like that, or just the two we took.
  3. We are doing WWS1 this year-Expository 1 through WTMA- with DD 5th grade. No previous WWE experience. She was already a pretty strong writer, but her confidence has come a long way so far this year with it.
  4. I think we’ve decided to go with AoPS pre-algebra with WTMA in the fall. DD is doing Expository 1 with them this year and really likes their platform, so she’ll likely do Expo 2 and pre-al next year. This gives us the problem of having a few months in between finishing BA5 and beginning pre-al. Maybe we’ll take a a break and do some fun number theory stuff in between?
  5. -Cross-posted in AL board- DD10 is doing BA5 this year at home, and is also enrolled in Saxon 8/7 at co-op. (Saxon isn’t her favorite, but it’s the program they use.) She is doing fine in both. If we continue with this co-op next year, she will be doing Algebra 1 with Saxon and....not sure what at home? She is bright in math, definitely accelerated, but I wouldn’t say highly gifted. I have AoPS pre-algebra on the shelf, so it’s a possibility. Would Dolciani pre-algebra be a good fit after finishing BA5? Or should we skip to an Algebra program, possibly Foerster or Jacobs?

  7. I'm looking to buy the second, town level. A friend has the 2010 teacher's manuals that she'll sell me used. How many changes have there been in the last couple of editions? Would it make it difficult to combine the student books if I found different editions of those?
  8. What has changed from the 2013 to 2015 editions?
