  1. Thoughts are with your friend, Donna. And her family. :grouphug:
  2. Glad you feel better! And yes I do have a friend with the smuggest little bratgirl ever. And she's my sister in law, so I can't even run very far. :glare:
  3. I agree, totally sounds like migraines, and bad ones too.
  4. Oh I know, its almost as addictive as the show! I found so many tidbits, and so many clues, so many connections that I otherwise may have missed. Heard other theories that hadn't occurred to me. Had a lot of OMG moments, and brilliant revelations...usually at 3 in the morning when no one is around to share it with. This is the best forum I found http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=201 As for withdrawal, I've been dealing with it by watching other series such as "Six Feet Under" and "Firefly".....its a distraction. Here soon I'm busting out season 1 and starting the whole wicked ride all over again. :D
  5. Ummm...I thought "banana", and I'm not even going to try to interpret THAT. :D
  6. The Steve Miller song "Big ol' jet airliner, don't carry me too far away" etc. When I was a kid, I always thought he was singing "big ol' Jed and the rhino" listen to it, I swear you'll hear it I had a friend who's kid thought that the Meatloaf song that goes "cause two out of three aint bad" actually said "cause you are a free arab"
  7. It hasn't happened to you, or any of the people saying it hasn't been done. I don't know if I'd believe it or not, if it hadn't happened to me.
  8. I'm not sure how political views play a part, I know there are a lot of people with similar views as mine that haven't been banned. But there does seem to be a recurrent theme with those that I know of that have been banned. Another thing that's gotten people ninja banned is speaking out about anonymous negative rep.
  9. Do you throw them out without telling them why? Do you not even admit that you are throwing them out in the first place? Do you make it look like a mistake? Genuinely curious how other mods/admin handle this.
  10. This isn't anyone's house, houses are a lot less public, people just don't wander in and out at your house. I'll go with store though. And if a store had the rules posted on the outside, denying certain people the privilege of making purchases there...thats one thing. Though it is still discrimination. :) But, if the store professes to welcome all, then goes and throws out people every now and then, based on their own particular whim, then I'd say there might be some hypocrasy involved, some underhandedness involved. Just sayin.
  11. Well I've been ninja banned. I know some other who have too. Interestingly we all have similar viewpoints. Who knows if that plays a part. Here's what happened. I couldn't get on the board for at least a week. You get sever busy errors?? Ha! Nothing like this. For days and days and days. There were other errors too, wish I could remember exactly what they said. Well I decided to get a new IP address. As soon as I did that, I'm on. I'm all over the board moving around with No Problem. I log in to my account...uh oh. Can't move again. Server's busy all of the sudden. As long as I use the new IP address, I'm in and moving. As soon as I log in to my account, I can't move anywhere. Repeatedly. (Oh, and I've never had more then this account.) I got the webmaster email address. I'm not going to tell you how that went, I feel that would be disrespectful. But apparently I persuaded them to let me back on, because all of a sudden my account was unfrozen. So please don't tell me this doesn't happen just because it hasn't happened to you. Server busy errors when the server is busy is one thing. Server busy errors that last for days is another.
  12. I just did a quick google (I'm bored), and yes apparently this is entirely possible. Cold sores transfer easily. Its a herpes simplex virus, they can spread fast. ETA: nevermind I see you've got your results. :)
  13. Wonderful kids Beans. :) I have a volatile three year old now, and he very much tries the patience. Tears are almost hourly. Usually him but sometimes me. ;) I will keep in mind your 4 yr old as a reminder of what my son may change into. Be gentle are wise words. :) Beautiful happy kids you have.
  14. Yep, that about describes our buying habits too, except the bottled water. :D We have a jug in the fridge that we refill from the tap. If we need it to be portable, we have plastic drink bottles to fill up. We live in the middle of the country, groceries are expensive right now. I budget 800 per month for groceries. That also includes any cleaning supplies, and any last minute run to the store, and also the things we have to buy every few days like milk and bread. We go through a lot of milk and bread. And sometimes we don't spend all of that 800, but we usually come pretty close. I cannot imagine though, feeding my family of 5 on 100 per week. Not possible for us. Be nice though.
  15. Oh, I didn't know we could throw in other options. I use fabreeze for just what I said, freshening things up. For an aroma, I sometimes use incense and sometimes use essential oils, and sometimes use scented soy candles.
  16. I bought a Glade brand the last time I bought an air freshener, it was worse then the Oust. I don't know if thats a new one or not.
  17. I've always wondered about those. In general I don't like the stuff you buy in a can, the scent overwhelms me, and usually doesn't smell anything like a "country breeze" or a "Springtime garden". So I probably wouldn't like them.
  18. Well I voted for febreeze, and I'll tell ya why. Oust smells funny. Oust falls on my floors and makes it sticky. Or maybe I use too much, I dunno. Febreeze, on the other hand, rocks. I can spray anything with it. I spray my entire livingroom, chairs carpet and all. Its nice because I don't like to use those carpetfresh sprinkle things on my carpet. Febreeze makes my jacket smell good after the dog has slept on it. Febreeze makes the car smeel good after a kid has puked in it. Febreeze makes happy noses. So even though I've never used Air Effects I voted for it anyway in good faith.
  19. He's not banned permanently, he will be back. That is, if he even feels welcome here anymore. People are awfully hard on him. nakitty, last I heard, was considering not coming back here anymore because she feels targeted and that things are not fair and balanced over here. Sad that its come to that. ETA::: just read above post....she got banned again?????? She must be pretty upset if she did that to herself.
  20. Thats kind of how I feel. I don't just give respect because I'm "supposed to." Just like everyone else, it has to be earned, whatever your title. dangermom is right, respect and trust of the government went out with Nixon, with both negative and positive results.
  21. I take a hot bath every single night. This is part of what keeps me sane. When I'm sick, I bathe more often. Probably its comforting. I've been sick enough to bathe six times in one day. I only wash my hair once or twice a week. It behaves better when its got a few days on it.
  22. I did note that you said the bolded, I was just sort of reinforcing it. :D Obama has been known in political circles for some time. Not as long as McCain, but definitely longer than Palin. She's like a new toy, lets see how many positions we can pose her in. The media had most of their fun with Obama, a lot of it way back before he won that first primary in Ohio. That surprised a lot of people. Before that, his inexperience and lack of foreign relations records etc. were all over the news and Hillary was *the winner* before any races were run. Then he won. Now, along with the inexperience and foreign relations, comes insinuations of islamic ties (which isn't even terrible in and of itself...but I suppose EXTREMIST is just assumed), a scandal involving one of his members, another scandal involving his paster, a rumor accu8sing him of calling Palin a big (sheesh), another rumor saying he wanted to kill babies.......and so on. You can see, it may not be equal running right now when it comes to smears, but it aint like Palin's the only out there dodging bullets. And I hope you can also see why this is so. She's the newbie, lets dig up all we can. Which is both beneficial to the voter, and distracting.
  23. Its quite true that Palin is under close scrutiny right now. As well she should be, as she's running for VP. And its also true that there are a fair amount of smears out there, that aren't facts at all. But that does not discount the fact that there are also facts out there that do show her negatively...and they really are facts. They really are reality, I wouldn't go so far as to say "most" of them have been debunked. There's a lot still out there that are actually true, including her record on earmarks which she is supposedly against, and her true role in the bridge to nowhere. Those are a couple that come to mind. As much as it bothers you to see her attacked constantly, it bothers me as much that so many are unwilling to admit that she has not presented herself entirely factually. As for this particular charge - about the special needs funds - I have no idea, I don't go to any links from either side. I'm not making an opinion on that, I don't have all the info. And there are also smears going around against Obama as well, so don't think its all directed at Palin. Though as a recent addition to the ticket, and one that is somewhat of a questionable choice to many people, she is getting a lot of flack. Politics is pretty good at this kind of thing, even if the politicians running don't instigate it.
  24. I would think we need special funding for special needs because, as said above, the cost for delivering what it takes to help special needs kids reach their full potential is astronomical. Very few families can afford it. I personally can't abide the thought of leaving these families without help. They pay for that government, its supposed to work for them so give them what they pay for, some help.
  25. That is *so cool*. We've been keeping an eye on the LHC, pretty excited about it. Thanks!
