I thought maybe you just wanted more. :D

  11. The Outlander books are *so* great! Gabaldon did meticulous research, you can tell that from the details. They're just great books, with great characters. They've come up here several times recently. The second one, that you're about to read, will have you crying through darn near the whole thing. Very emotional. At least it was for me. The first one is the best, but the other ones are really really good too. I hope you enjoy them. BTW, did I tell you I like your avatar?
  12. That is the most sweetest thing. :) Congratulations Chelle, 20 years is something to be proud of.
  13. We do, though, celebrate the finishing of a workbook. We do the finished-workbook dance and we make cake or cookies.
  14. I keep complete workbooks, but only because I'm terrible at deciding what to keep and what not to keep. I throw them in a tub, along with a lot of their school work. I figure when they're grown up, I'll give them the tubs and let them decide what work of theirs they want to keep.
  15. Cream soup mix 2 c. nonfat dry milk 3/4 c. cornstarch 2 TB dried onion 1/2 tsp pepper 1 tsp. dried basil 1/8 c. instant chicken bouillon 1/8 c. instant beef bouillion to reconstitute in saucepan combine 1/3 c. of the mix above and 1 1/4 c. cold water. Stir over low heat until thickened. Equivalent to 1 c. condensed soup. I use this with potato soup allt the time. Use 2/3 cup of the mix. 2 1/2 c milk 6 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks 3 carrots , peeled and cut into chunks cook potatoes and carrots in a coverd pot of water until tender. Set aside. Combine the cream soup mix and milk, cook over low heat stirring constantly until thickened. Add potatoes and carrots and 1 c. of the water they were cooked in. Heat thoroughly.
  16. Thats a tough question, all the possibilities are good, even Finland. :D I would probably head for my roots though, if you have roots in Europe. So for me that would be either Ireland/Scotland (I soo bad want to go to Scotland to see the highlands and hear the accents) or Germany.
  17. Most of the work at home jobs out there ARE a scam. I was lucky enough to find on that I did for a year, then was able to "retire" to SAHM status. It was through a local business, not something 8704 miles away. The had a legitimate add in the paper looking for ppl to do data entry from their homes. They even supplied the computer so we didn't have to use our own. It was really great for our situation. I would be very careful while looking, and no real job is going to ask YOU for money. So thats a big giveaway right there. But legit jobs are out there, they are few and far between so you may have to look for a while. Do you have skills to market yourself? There are some areas of the job field that are more open to work at home situations then others. Good luck.
  18. Cool. Now we have a face to forever attach your identity to. :D That is how you look to us now! ps, good luck with NaNo. :)
  19. Astrid my dear friend, I think we already went over this today. :D
  20. Yeah its funny how a warm room can quickly be made unpleasant by cold blast of....wind.

  21. Hi Debra! 2.gif

btw, I got aacked on my moira too. So gross. :D

  22. Just out of curiousity, did you possibly misunderstand my sig line? It was not an affront to SWB, had nothing to do with her sticky. There were political avatars that were quite insulting to the new president after the election. Several of them. There was also a particularly insulting sig line implying that left-leaning ppl were stupid. That is the reason behind my sig line, has nothing to do with SWB, except that she asked the ppl with the avatars to remove them. Neither she or the mods have said anything about my sig line, so I'm assuming its acceptable.

I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, that you misunderstood the sig line, and not that you were out to start trouble.

    Have a nice day.

  23. Much like the original signature line and the offensive avatars that started the whole mess were mature. I do occasionally feel the need to defend my beliefs.

    Have a nice day.
