  1. :iagree: Also, when there are several activities for one chapter that I know we would enjoy, then I'll spread that chapter's activities out for two days. I *love* the flexibility of it. Another fun thing we've done is to "google" topics. We've discovered some great websites this way, as well as some awesome online games for the food chain and for the layers of earth's atmosphere. It is such a fun way to learn! Another great thing is that ds9 is learning old-fashioned dictionary skills by looking up vocabulary words.:)
  2. I'm 37 and one of my dearest friends is 28. We get along beautifully, but unfortunately she is about to move 15 hours away from me.:(:( But, yes, you can truly be good friends with younger women.
  3. OK, you ladies have inspired me. I am going to spend this afternoon making a list of fun things I'd like to do. Thanks for all the great ideas!:)
  4. Here is a link to some great ideas: http://simplycharlottemason.com/timesavers/narration/
  5. I voted donate. I just don't want to deal with the hassle of a yard sale, so I always donate our stuff.
  6. to have fun? I am in a rut lately. My good friends have either temporarily or permanently moved (due to husbands' work.) I am *stuck* with nobody, or so it seems. Also, I live in a very small city with NOTHING to do-we don't even have a Wal-Mart.:001_huh: The nearest city with malls, nice restaurants, etc. is 30 miles away. Plus, we are financially strapped right now, so I need *cheap* fun. Sigh.........I am feeling so bummed.
  7. I am three weeks into FUFI with my ds9 and we LOVE it! We have had some great discussions already. I am so glad that we chose this study.
  8. My hubby is a HUGE Bama fan. I'm a Mississippi State fan. We go to some games, but we'll be at home tomorrow rooting for our teams. I hope you have a good time.

  11. Dd11-born in late 2000 & in 6th grade Ds9-born in mid-2003 & in 4th grade Dd4-born in early 2008 & in preschool (will probably be seven years old before we do kindergarten level work due to her special needs)
  12. Yes, if you tell my dd11 the same thing. If she doesn't immediately see the answer in print, or even more TERRIFYING, if she has to come up with an implied answer or think for herself...she always says, "Mama, I need help with this. I can't 'find' the answer.":tongue_smilie:
  13. I can't remember which books I read during which year of high school. I do know that at some point in high school I read Silas Marner, the book of Job from The Bible, Julius Caesar, Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth, poetry by Edgar Allan Poe, Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice, The Importance of Being Earnest, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and several others that I've forgotten. Our reading material was quite challenging. All of the Shakespeare that I read was in its original form...I do remember that!:)
  14. I'm glad you've gotten a diagnosis & can now move forward with a plan.
  15. :iagree: He can get to his lessons later.:)
  16. I like the name Jesse for a boy. I think it's fine.
