  1. Do you happen to know his actual height? I've often wondered as I watch.
  2. We recently watched the 'Scooter through Vietnam' episode. Hilarious!
  3. My 12 year old would spend his every waking moment watching the UK edition of Top Gear. I occasionally watch it with him, and though I have no real interest in cars, I love those guys!
  4. I used to talk to my mom a couple times each day. She passed away last January and I miss those phone calls. My younger son recently brought home his first PS report card sporting a 4.0, and my older son has started receiving college acceptance letters and scholarship offers. She would have been the first person I called with all this wonderful news, and she would have behaved as my boys' biggest fans. I am sorry for them that they are missing that.
  5. Depends on the person I'm calling. I easily dialed my mom once or twice every day (and she called me as often). I am comfortable calling my sisters and my dad. Anyone else falls somewhere between torture and not enjoyable.
  6. So funny. I do the same thing. I will empty the can and immediately take a fresh kleenex, crumple it a little and toss it in.
  7. If the images are hosted on a site like Photobucket or similar, you would use the URL. If the images are on your computer, you can use the paperclip icon above the text window to attach the photo.
  8. Three beautiful girls. I'm so glad to see you getting in the picture more often, M!
  9. It depends on the situation. We'll be going to my husband's company Christmas party this week. I will probably shake hands with each new person I meet. Last night we were at our son's holiday concert. I hugged the women I know well and I shook hands with their husbands, many of whom I'd not previously met. If I were at a casual gathering in someone's home and the guests were primarily women, I would probably not extend my hand. I often get the feeling that women don't care to shake hands. A casual gathering at my Dad's house, though, when I'm meeting his male friends for the first time? I shake hands.
  10. Yes. I bought things for them throughout the year when they were younger. Now that they are older and both working, they mostly buy their own things. Sometimes I like to surprise them. Last month, for example, books that each of them had been waiting for were released on the same day. I bought them and left the books to be found on their pillows at the end of the day.
  11. I have a confession. My husband is a photographer. He is very kind to me when it comes to the lighting.
  12. We were not young. I was 27 and my husband was 43. My parents, however, were 17 and 19. They were married for 44 years, until death did they part. I'm sure marriage IS hard at such a young age, but you know what? It can be equally hard at any age. There are no guarantees that waiting is going to result in Happily Ever After.
  13. I love seeing all the beautiful families in these threads! We recently made family photo for the first time in a few years:
  14. Though it was difficult to read much of this, it certainly makes the short list of the best books I've ever read.
  15. I can narrow it down to two: The Art of Fielding (Chad Harbaugh) Faith (Jennifer Haigh)
  16. I don't recall when I found out that Santa wasn't real. I must not have felt terribly upset or betrayed.
  17. I wear my wedding ring, engagement ring and a thin, diamond anniversary band together on my left hand, and a thick, plain gold band on the ring finger of my right hand.
  18. We have used various brands of wipes for quick face and hand cleaning in the car. The last brand I bought claimed to be "all natural". It caused an itchy rash on two out of four of us. I have since switched to damp wash cloths in a plastic baggie when we're out for picnics, baseball games, etc.
  19. Praying, Nan! ETA: Gosh, it's good to see you here!
  20. Yes. I would help financially, emotionally, offer a place to stay, etc. My sisters, I believe, would do the same in whatever capacity they were able.
  21. This sounds so good, Lucy. Would I need anything other than the workbook you linked?
