  1. Just what I was thinking .... My wheels are spinning on this one, too. Even one for *mama* almost *quilt* looking ... let the kids pick out their own colors ...
  2. I love the regular steak knives. That spreader, I don't use it like I should... And my husband lost the shears! They come apart for cleaning, so I really, really like them ... he needs to find them asap:glare:
  3. What about a nap time...well, not really a nap, but quite time. My oldest has started napping again since they got out of school last week. He sits down for our quite time and ends up napping. I think it's helping his attitude ....
  4. The link that I gave, well, it's actually a curriculum and tells you how to use the masterpieces. Different levels, etc...
  5. http://www.amazon.com/Mommy-Its-Renoir-Aline-Wolf/dp/0960101667 we are using these ... I was at Barnes and Noble just a couple of days ago and they had HUGE 11x14 maybe, size ... numerous prints of just one artist for 9.98 ... it was a deal, but I just couldn't figure out where to put them...:glare:
  6.  This advice, for some reason :001_smile:, appears to be very wise. :bigear:
  7. I was thinking about switching after grade 3 ... to saxon .... but now I'm thinking BJ....hum....
  8. "God hates homeschooling." I can't help but think of the group that screams "God hates F@gs".... Both of them are stupid. I stopped reading after that.
  9. I really think it will come along ... give it some time. My oldest has a book with him all the time and oh, my ... I could never get him to do anything and all of a sudden (I have to thank CS for that, though)... Everything that I've read, including WTM suggests 20 - 40 minutes a day at this age. I plan on allowing my son to do his free reading anytime of the day ... bedtime sounds good as well. Does she like for you to read aloud to her? Just curious ... because my son never did like me to. And that was real difficult when I tried to homeschool him before putting him in school...anyway... Oh, and I bought and plan to use this next year, MCP Reading Comprehension Plus .... it has very short stories in it and questions afterwards. It looks fun.
  10. My mom too, especially with spelling ..... I think we are going to ditch the ones I bought and get these... we are learning the states and capitals this year.
  11. Awww....man....ya'll have me wanting to buy BJ!
  12. What about Even Moor's daily math reviews ... then just get her ready for 4th grade.... I don't know ... but my son used those daily reviews in CS and loved them...
  13. Because of Winn Dixie is great! We even have it on audio. Those Burgess animal books are good ... (but I have a tendency to love *old* books)
  14. If anything, the paragraph editing appears to be more bang for the buck ... we might give it a try!
  15. You are right. The *older* looking books that are non consumable are Catholic. The workbooks that look *modern* have been edited and *re-done* by Catholics. Personally, I have not seen those but appear to be secular according to what everyone is saying here. I've thought about the *modern* ones, but they seem a little pricey. Thought about Kiss Grammar? It's free online.
