  1. This is JMHO but I've tried TOG twice and I don't see how to use it effectively without making history the centerpiece of your homeschool. That isn't meant to try to talk you out of TOG or to criticize it. You just mentioned that you don't want it to be the main focus. Heather
  2. For me it helps make sure I'm meeting this year's goals. If I look into what I'm going to do next year and the skills required, it helps me to focus on making sure I'm emphasizing the skills now. Also, if I find that I am not doing something I need to be, I can make sure I prioritize it. I don't buy anything until later though since things can change. Heather
  3. My 12 year old is currently reading the Imitation of Christ and If I Perish. My 8 year old is reading Mary Pope Osborne's Odyssey. My 4 year old is reading Fun Tales - well she's trying at least :-) Heather
  4. Don't worry Drew - I read all 50something Nancy Drew books countless times as a child and it was a great catalyst to get me to read even more. My oldest (now 12) has read them all as well. Enjoyable and harmless. Heather
  5. My two favorites are Lively Latin and Latin Prep. I'd use Lively Latin with kids under 9 or so and 11 and up Latin Prep. Heather
  6. I'm still finalizing but here's what I have planned (always subject to change without notice LOL) Continue VideoText Algebra - plan to finish this year Final session of Analytical Grammar Latin Prep II Elementary Greek I Lord of the Rings study CW Maxim Traditional Logic History Odyssey Level II Modern with Roots of American Order book BJU Physical Science Heather
  7. We are enjoying Phonics Museum very much. It took a bit to get used to but it's very good. We are working on the K book and going slowly because she's only 4. She knows her sounds and is starting to read a bit but has attention issues (beyond what is normal for her age). If you have specific questions about it feel free to ask. Heather
  8. I'm looking for something like Time Traveler's Colonial Study for my 3rd grader. I'm probably going to use Time Traveler but before I buy it I wanted to see if there are other choices as well. Thanks Heather
