  1. I noticed when reading it this year that one reindeer is named "Donder". Everyone writes/says Donner. Also one year reading the Grinch I realized it's in black and white primarily. So is the cover. He's not green in the book 😲
  2. I make enchiladas with almost every kind of leftover meat I have. Granted I've never cooked lamb so I don't know if that would work. My other option for beef roast is stew.
  3. Ok this style could work. What was coming up with the other links was more like this book belongs to Sam Jones and I wanted it more blank. These are too blank but I'm guessing they can add some text for me. Thanks.
  4. So yeah not exactly these. I was hoping for it to be blank but with more room so I could add in who it was from and when not just who it belongs to. I can see blank ones but they just have one line. The custom ones wouldn't accommodate the event and year as I may end up doing them for birthdays too.
  5. I think we are moving to books only for the grand kids for Christmas. It is complicated but in the end I think keeping it simple will be the way. I want little stickers/book plates that I can write the childs name and date/event like Christmas 2023 and from Grandpa and Grandma and our last name. I've looked but I might not be using the right search terms. (Back story. My one daughter in law is a minimalist so buying anything is hard for them. She plans to homeschool and is raising the kids with Spanish as their first language intending them to be bilingual so I think the options are wide open for quality books. I also was highly influenced by FIAR and other literature based curricula and love children's literature and think sharing this love is a good idea. We will be doing a family pass to a local place as well but I would like at least a package for the kids to open with us.)
  6. Mostly. The thing is we know a lot of people but I am kinda thinking no news is good news. I keep forgetting people that may have been there and then checking social media and they've posted that they are ok. So I don't think we know the victims but we do know quite a few people who were on campus including the wife of my son's best friend who saw the gunman. She is ok physically but so young to go through something like this.
  7. Thanks for the support yesterday. I feel heavy today but less so than yesterday.
  8. Thanks but I don't actually know that yet. I have lived here 23 years. We know a lot of people. We used to live by campus. There are just a lot of unknowns so far
  9. UNLV has an active situation. I just heard that my son's best friend's wife was in the building but is ok. I have heard from many friends but it's so overwhelming that I don't know who else may have been there. My oldest kids grew up here and are college age and older. I also know professors. I know one is ok. I hate this.
  10. I have one that is white with a snow man on it. I thought it was cute but I inadvertently got entered into an ugly Christmas sweater contest at a church party and won 😂 I'm not offended. I think its funny but I still don't think it's ugly. I actually think I won because I was working with the children at the time and they were the ones who voted. I think they wanted to vote for me. Or at least that's what I tell myself because again I think the sweater is cute 😉 I wear it Christmas Eve sometimes.
  11. Our big dinner is Christmas Eve. Swedish meatballs, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, cheesy potatoes, rolls etc On Christmas Day for breakfast /brunch we have cinnamon rolls that I made and refrigerated when I made the rolls for Christmas Eve. Set on the counter while we open presents to come to room temp. Then bake. Also oven omelet with leftover ham that we dice the night before when putting away food. It's all designed to make it as easy as possible on Christmas day while also being a special/different. Then we have another meal of hoagie sandwiches and chips etc.
  12. I had heard about the purple grape juice too but I was always afraid they would still throw up and then it would be that much harder to clean up.
  13. I have 9 kids with terrible stomachs and had years and years of horrific experiences with the stomach bug. For 10 years now its over with the first person because we learned that apple cider vinegar doesn't allow it to take hold. 1 T of the raw in a quart of water or lemonade for flavor. Even Gatorade. Whatever you have. Each person drinks at minimum 2 8 oz glasses a day, morning and night. Do NOT give it to the sick ones or the ones recovering. It is a preventative only. But it works and works well. If I was consistent at giving it to everyone every day we would probably never get it at all. But our younger ones have brought it home still but it NEVER spreads anymore. One time the two cousins my daughter shared a bed with at Thanksgiving both got it but mine did not. My sister in laws do it now too. It works. It's preventative. It's not a treatment. Do not give it to sick kids/adults. If they are just the tiny bit queasy sometimes it's not too late but again not for the sick ones!!! It doesn't matter how many times I explain this sometimes people still do it and then complain that it made the sick kid worse 🤦‍♀️. PREVENTATIVE ONLY.
  14. I believe in this and allow my kids to do what others would think very dangerous like climbing rock formations/mountains. I get yelled at by other adults. But I do it anyways. Luckily I have friends who feel the same and we go together. My kids play sports including tackle football and our biggest injury happened while playing tag in the grass and tripping. (broken arm requiring surgery). I do believe kids need to learn their limits. There is also information about brain development and spinning.
  15. Ok yes this is a big difference with the ones I've been to. There is a "viewing" before hand but that is usually family and closer friends. The casket is closed before being brought into the chapel so it is easy to avoid that part. We did have our kids go to the viewing for their grandpa and cousin (died at age 17 after being disabled his whole life). And we had a viewing for their sister as well. We always talk to them about what they will see and we encourage them to stay back or in the hallway etc if they are uncomfortable. We treat it very normally and like other things with kids, they feed off our energy.
  16. I think LDS funerals are a little different than most but my kids have been going to funerals their whole life. My husband's grandpa died when we had kids 2,4 5 and 7 and he took the older three to another state to go. I stayed home with the 2 year old as I was 8 months pregnant. That baby ended up being still born at term and we were really thankful that the older kids had experienced a funeral already so their sisters wasn't their first one. My kids participated as much as they felt comfortable including carrying the casket (with others) and flowers to the grave side and it was my 7 year olds idea to bury her ourselves and so we did. We have precious memories of these events. I actually really love funerals as weird as that might sound. I love hearing about people's lives and hearing the stories the family shares. I mean older adults here. Baby and child funerals are different and much harder. But most importantly, part of an LDS funeral is a final talk by clergy about the good news of the gospel and the hope we feel at being reunited with our loved ones. I end up leaving feel peaceful, hopeful and happy even if I also am sad about the loss.
  17. I have mthfr but not comt. So does that make sense? I'm a little confused because brain fog 😬🤦‍♀️
  18. It wasn't specifically for long COVID although it's all connected. It has been used for longer than that for autoimmune disease and after COVID I tested positive for autoimmune. Probably phrasing that wrong. But my Dr is already alternative. He treats thyroid based on symptoms etc and uses bioidentical hormones etc.
  19. I also take low dose naltrexone and find it to be nearly miraculous. Twice in the 2+ years I've been taking it I've accidentally run out and had to wean while waiting for a shipment and both times it left me bedridden again.
  20. Yes I have had my genetics run. It was part of my Dr trying everything after COVID. Ferritin is the iron storage.
  21. Both tests and symptoms I am improved for sure. I get my thyroid checked every 3 months and a CBC is on there. My H/H is always in range but my ferritin was also checked a year or so ago and was ridiculously low. Single digits as I recall. Also there are other things on the CBC that indicate low iron, mcvs I think? I can't remember for sure but my doctor always mentions it and asks if I'm taking iron. The numbers have improved I think sometimes but go up and down or at least haven't ever been in range yet. I also have symptoms like racing heart and muscle pain that flare if I'm not being consistent. You would think with how sick I've been that I wouldn't ever forget but between brain fog and other issues around eating it happens. (Can't take on an empty stomach)
  22. Similar situation here. Mine hasn't recovered since my covid infection in 2020. I can't function without addressing it. Beef liver capsules are very effective as is a supplement called hemeplex. I take both if I'm really struggling. Also menthylated B12.
  23. I have had or known close friends/family who have had breaks missed at urgent care. I would recommend just going straight to orthopedic if you can.
  24. This isn't what you are asking exactly but my dad always uses a ricer for mashed potatoes. He loves it. I have one but can't be bothered. It takes too long for a large family. If it's just for gnocchi I don't think it will be too bad.
