  1. Christian Liberty Press has a TM for A Beka's 9th grade literature for $4.49 :) It's nothing more than the answers to the questions printed out and stapled together.
  2. I'm looking at the Algebra I outline - 19 of the lessons are in the 20 minute range, 14 of the lessons are under 20 minutes, 10 of the lessons are in the 30 minute range and then there are a couple of 40+ minute lessons. We've found that it's pretty easy to match up where the examples in the book match up with the video lecture and then just stop the dvd and do the work up until that point. The next day we just FF the dvd to where we left off and finish up the lesson and the work :)
  3. I had to e-mail him a couple of times as well before I got a password. When he contacted me, he said that he had sent a reply to the first e-mail, but he had gotten an error. (?) He answered my second e-mail within a few days and was very helpful. The last time I was on the website, the teacher resource area that included the Chapter Highlight answers and Concept Builder answers was not finished yet. I had to order the TM from the publisher - it was around $20 including shipping. Tami
  4. After more searching, I found that you can use Prentice Hall's Chemistry in Action with DIVE as well.
  5. If you all can stand another chemistry question......:001_smile: First of all, I never took chemistry in high school. Add to that the fact that I despise doing experiments, and you can see why I'm a little freaked out about doing chem next year! If we did Conceptual Chemistry with the internet lectures along with a LabPaq that someone mentioned in an earlier thread, would that be enough? Does the LabPaq come with everything we need to do the experiments? Any input would be great! (Oh, I've ruled out using the DIVE lectures because I don't want to use Apologia or BJU.) Thanks!
  6. Thank you, thank you, thank you :001_smile: for your replies and links! So, I'm getting the idea that I wouldn't really NEED the TM. I'll be reading the text and will be able to answer the questions (that have definite answers) from the syllabus. Is there anything else in the TM that would make me really want to purchase it? Tests, quizzes?
  7. I'm pretty sure that I've finally decided to use Oak Meadow's US History next year (of course, it seems my final decisions are never definitely "final".......) I've never ordered from them before and was wondering if someone could answer some questions for me??? 1st - I keep hearing about a teacher manual, but I don't see where you would order it once you get to the bookstore - there's just the syllabus and the text. Where do you find it? 2nd - Does anyone happen to know the ISBN # of the textbook currently being used so that I can try to find it for less than $118 :tongue_smilie: (It's "The American Vision" - Glencoe) Thank you!
  8. I would have to agree with the previous poster :) My son used this course last year (8th grade) and I was not impressed. The assignments were not very challenging and, in my opinion, there were not enough of them. I, also, would be interested in hearing about a good, solid writing course into which I could enroll my children :)
  9. So..... I'm Tami - from PA (original - I know). I'm 36 and I've been married to my awesome hubby for over 15 years. We have two boys who are 14 (going into 9th grade) and 12 (going into 7th grade); they consider it their full-time job to eat all day, every day. I've always homeschooled them. My oldest has a December b-day - which meant he wasn't allowed to start kindergarten until the next school year, but he was more than ready. I started doing workbooks with him at home and then just never stopped! We'll be using Apologia Biology, Chalk Dust Algebra II, Notgrass World History, Wordly Wise - plus a bunch of other stuff, because I'm nothing if not a curriculum junkie - for 9th grade. I don't have all of the 7th grade curriculum hammered out yet, but, so far, we have A Beka Science, Easy Grammar, Vocabu-Lit/Vocab. from Classical Roots, World Geography workbook, and we'll continue to cover American History by reading books. I'm searching for a good math program......... We used A Beka Basic Math & Key to Algebra books 1-5 last year. I've been lurking at this site for quite some time. I hate wearing shoes, I love to read, I'm a black-recommended belt in taekwondo, and I love to laugh :) Nice to meet you all!
  10. I have been browsing these boards for about a year now, but I've never joined or posted. I've gleaned info. from the homeschooling side and have laughed at threads on the general board. Anyway, today I came across your thread about moving to Pittsburgh and noticed the replies about Greensburg. I live in a great neighborhood in Greensburg and the house next to me happens to be for rent (the people just moved out about 2 weeks ago.) I know that there are 3 bedrooms (not the biggest in the world) and one bathroom. There is a living room, an added on family room (possibly could be used as a bedroom????) and a dining room. If you want to e-mail me, I would be happy to give you the info. from the sign in the front yard (phone number) and send you a picture of the outside of the house. It has a nice back yard. Anyway, I hope you don't think I'm some sort of stalker or anything..... I'm just trying to help out. By the way, I have 2 boys, ages 12 and 14 that I homeschool.
