  1. almost Nexus is for expedited travel. You don't need a nexus card to drive across the border if you have either a passport card or a passport book. Theoretically nexus cards just make crossing the border faster. I say theoretically because sometimes the lines all go equally slow :tongue_smilie: You can use a nexus card in lieu of a passport card when driving, or in lieu of a passport book when flying between Canada/US. https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/nexus This is an old article that explains the different cards etc. The pdf on the border/customs website is still dated 2009, so I don't think anything has changed since it was written. http://traveltips.usatoday.com/passports-required-canadian-travel-33630.html
  2. You do NOT need passports to enter Canada from the USA if you are driving. You can get passport cards instead, and they're a lot cheaper. https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports/information/card.html
  3. Currently, everything they attend is a 15 minute walk or drive. I think the furthest I've ever had to go on a consistent basis was 30 minutes twice a day i.e 2 hours a day all together  , during the summer, because the kids' swim team had to use a different pool. That was a bit of a pain.
  4. I'm in a different country so I don't know which ones are on US Netflix. the first ones that come to mind are Doc Martin Longmire Grace & Frankie The 100 Grimm Rosemary & Thyme Father Brown
  5. 5 kids. We've never had more than 3 bedrooms. First house was 1150 sq ft. (1600 after we enclosed the carport). It was cozy, but doable. Moved, down to 4 kids, 3 bedrooms ~ 2600 sq ft. (includes garage and bonus room above) on an acre ~ this was a good size Moved again, still 4 kids and 3 bedrooms ~ 1050 sq ft. apartment. Definitely tight!
  6. 850K + Though it looks like the majority of that size are 1.2 million and up. In my search nothing came up with over an acre.
  7. I live in a high snow, but extremely flat area, no problems ever. We do put snow tires on the van in the winter.
  8. This is probably going to sound harsh, but if I hadn't enforced these things I don't think I'd have stayed sane while mine were little. 1. No talking before Mom has her morning coffee. I reminded them that if they wanted a pleasant and engaged Mom, they needed to let Mom wake up in a quiet house. They mostly accommodated me ;) 2. Daily, enforced quiet time after lunch, for at least an hour. 3. Outside play time by themselves, i.e. not with Mom. My 12yo and my 17yo still like to talk my ears off. When it gets to be too much I just point blank tell them that they need to stop and be still; my ears need a rest.
  9. Agree on the blind spot. And I DO have an issue with the sun. I'm short(ish), 5'3" and I keep a cowboy hat in the van because the visor does not come down low enough to block the sun. I never had this problem in my old van (GMC) because it had a higher seat and a double visor.
  10. Rod & Staff English is very thorough & easy to use. It only takes about 15 minutes of one-on-one time/ day (maybe), and it's scheduled to be done 4 x's/week. It's also extremely economical.
  11. Good for her! What a grueling event to swim, but so fun to watch!
  12. I want to be watching. Unfortunately NBC won't stream to a foreign country, plus you have to have cable. So. Lame. I couldn't even get omega timing to work. :(
  13. My oldest didn't start swimming (team swimming) until he was 13. He ended up being one of the top swimmers for his high school. So I vote that 12 is definitely NOT too late to start a sport!
  14. I haven't really thought about this before. If I were to go into hospice right now, I would not want visitors except for those that I'm really comfortable with. I don't like having visitors in my daily, everyday healthy life either. I would want to be able to say good-bye to my spouse and children, my parents and my sister. I "think" I would want to see my priest. Other than that, no. I've told my husband that I don't care what he does with my body etc., or what memorials he holds. Those things are for the living, not the dead, and he can do what he wants, or not.
  15. Is Sunday Father's Day?  :tongue_smilie: oops. :blushing:
  16. These go up to +6 http://www.swimoutlet.com/p/sporti-antifog-positive-optical-goggle-29800/?color=
  17. I was going to say St. Johns County, FL as well.
  18. This what we did when we visited. http://www.brewster.ca/canadian-rockies/destinations/banff/activities/explore-rockies-combo-packages/
  19. Take a day to go to Drumheller, for sure!
  20. It sure seems like it, eh? Some of my evangelical friends became quite concerned for us when we started attending the Anglican Church. They were sure that we were no longer Bible believing Christians :confused1: :glare: :smash:  Anyway, my experience has been that I've found more authentic, living out their faith Christians in my Anglican parish, than I ever did in any of the evangelical churches.
