  1. Ha! When ds24 was little, I called them Big Raisins. And he loved them.
  2. We have friends who just got back from India a few weeks ago. They mentioned these things as well. Also, our friends said food is super spicy, even the "less spicy" things they make for Americans.
  3. My grandma used to fix pears like that, though I can't remember what the goop was. Also in her rotation were individual jello molds of perfection salad for weeknight dinners. Of course, the epitome of these old school concoctions is Candle Salad.
  4. Today has been really sunny, but really windy and cold. I went out and had a 20 minute walk, which is about all my ears could stand, even with a wool hat on.
  5. This is how I've had it. I've only ever experienced it at potlucks.
  6. Secretly, yes. Don't tell my husband. He can be a food snob sometimes. 😉
  7. Floristor has guidelines about interactions which is on their website. As for finding it, I've seen it around here in Walgreens. And if *we* have it, then I'm guessing everybody else does.
  8. Florastor has been recommended on the boards here numerous times.
  9. When there's snow, we see lots of juncos at the feeder. Now that it's 50, I haven't noticed any today. Mostly sparrows.
  10. Ugh. I had serious intestinal issues yesterday because of a change in meds. I was really out of it. Today, I am feeling better, though still somewhat tired. I took advantage of the sun and relatively warm weather, and had a 20 minute walk.
  11. Re: SOTW 1 projects. I've kept nearly everything, but did toss the mummy chicken. 😆
  12. Not cancer is great news! Hopefully, the specialists will have a better idea of what's going on.
  13. That is great you have the motivation to get back in the saddle! What is your plan for doing that?
  14. Oh, wow. I thought you meant preserved lemons, which I think is part of North African cuisine, Morroco, maybe? I made some when I was in high school, so I don't remember much about the process. But they were tasty. If you're adventurous, it might be something to play around with.
  15. I think Liberty is Mennonite-based and we are Catholic. They didn't seem to have a problem with that. But, Dh signed us up, so I don't know what they asked.
  16. We used Liberty maybe 8 years ago when dh was working as a contractor. We liked it, as it was less expensive than what we would have gotten through the state. It was like $500/mo vs. $1,300/mo plus $12,000 deductible. At that point, we had no prior conditions. They made all the calls to doctor billing offices, which was nice. However, they did not cover vaccinations for our young children. We learned those are pricey when you have to pay for them yourself -- about $400/shot.
  17. Dh grew up on a farm and is appalled that they are using Roundup as a drying agent just before harvesting. It's not how pesticides are generally used.
  18. It seems like at some point, either in a book or podcast I *think* Will Bulsiewicz said that conventionally grown oatmeal has some sort of problem with it and you should be eating organic oatmeal. I would like to know the reason specifically, and for the life of me, I cannot find where I heard or read it. Can anyone help me out with this? I can't find it in Fiber Fueled, or on the Zoe podcast which is most certainly where I would have heard it, but I can't find it in any of the transcripts that I had listened to.
  19. Monday, I went to TKD class and started learning the new pattern. Yesterday, I practiced my pattern for quite a bit and then went outside for a 20 minute walk because it was so sunny. This evening I plan on lifting weights.
  20. My roommate had a word processor that had its own monitor. And the printer paper had the holes on the side that you had to tear off. I spent hours writing a paper on that thing, and apparently didn't save it, and it was lost. Of course, this happened the night before it was due. Good times. 😆
  21. I guess I am too old for this reference. I took an electric typewriter to college. 😆
  22. Yes, we get to stay put. Which makes me very happy. 😊
  23. I seem to recall there's an impressive butterfly atrium on the Canadian side. ETA: https://www.niagaraparks.com/visit/attractions/butterfly-conservatory/
