  1. Thanks everyone! I am going to set up a meeting with the guidance counselor and go from there. The school is aware of his issues and one of his teachers did say to him yesterday not to worry because it was a new environment and it would take time to get used to it. I did tell him if we were going to do this then we had to give it a fair chance. I am just not sure how long that is yet.
  2. I guess I should have said that he has ADD/ODD and a list of sensory issues. So he is having issues socially as well as with the pace that is being set as far as the classes are concerned. It is a middle school where that kids change class for each subject.
  3. My 10 year old fifth grader wanted to give Public School another shot this year. We have been homeschooling for the past 3 school years. It has only been 3 days and it is NOT going well.... My question is how long do you think is a reasonable amount of time to decide it really is not working for him and look at other options such as private school or even bringing him back home? I am thinking that by Christmas break we should know but my DH thinks he should stick it out the whole year and we can reevaluate in the summer. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!
  4. LOL That is the same one we are using! Free is better than $1.00 .. Either way it is a fun lapbook!:D
  5. There is a great lapbook for download on CurrClick about inventors. It is only $1.00 and it has been a fun project for us this year!
  6. I just need something that has a few problems from each of the points covered in most 4th grade math curriculum's. TIA:001_smile:
  7. Do you have any free online resources that you can share for grades 5 and up? Thanks!
  8. My son is in the fourth grade and our plan was to homeschool him until sixth grade. The wonderful middle school in our area starts at sixth grade. Well we just found out that because of budget reasons they are moving the fifth grade to that school next year. Now we are left to decide if we should stop homeschooling a year early and allow him to go and make the transition with his peers or wait like we had planned until sixth grade. I just can not get a clear focus on what we should do. Help! Thanks!
  9. Thanks again! I am going to sign up! Our local library system has a great selection but they don't always have what I would like as far as for homeschooling. I think Netflix will be a good resource for me.
  10. LOL Mindy! I was thinking that this might happen with me as well!:D
  11. A few ideas 1. Kellys Roast Beef (sooo good) 2. Jordans IMAX 3. Boston Museum of Science 4. Legal Seafood ( insane good!) 5. The Peabody Essex Museum 6. And while he is in Newburyport tell him to buy you something from Plum Island Soap Co. ( the best stuff ever to touch your skin!) HTH
  12. Oh my gosh! Thank you so much! Now I won't be prepping this right before co-op! Thank you again!
