  1. Good morning! Uncharacteristically cool day here, may take advantage and get some outdoor work done early. -coffee -DS18 off to school -school with DS14 -workout (back, shoulders, biceps) -rake leaves from tulip poplar -scrub master bathroom shower grout -think about and start getting ready for Clemson football tailgating tomorrow (game is at 7:30 pm so it will be an all day event...) -dinner -two of my favorite local bands are playing in Greenville tonight at different venues - maybe go see one (or not because tomorrow is an all day event and I can't hang like I once did...)
  2. Good morning! Regular day here. -coffee -DS18 off to school -school with DS14 -workout -laundry DONE: 3 -vacuum whole house (this has been on list every day since Monday...) -scrub shower -rake leaves that have fallen off tulip poplar -drug store -dog to vet for surgery on his rear end growth. Sigh. -dinner (no idea) - steak and baked potato
  3. (((Jean))) Good morning! Regular Wednesday here. DH is taking DS14 to co-op for me so I can stay home with the dog who is pumped full of diuretics and peeing his brains out. -coffee -DS18 off to school and DS14 off to co-op -workout (kickboxing) -call doctor (started out with what I thought was a few mosquito bites after being outside, now is full fledged rash spreading all over) - may just go to urgent care clinic -call dad to see if he has any ideas about a plumbing issue we are having (DS14 turned on the water in one sink in his bathroom and it won't turn off - I cannot find a plumber that I like around here so hoping dad can walk me through an easy fix) -take DS18 to follow up appointment with surgeon and PT to see where he is with shoulder at 1 pm -laundry -vacuum (didn't do yesterday) -rake some leaves (we have a huge tulip poplar tree that is dropping leaves like crazy already) -research end of season zone 8 care for hydrangeas, peonies, daylillies, and other plants I have in my yard -dinner (no idea at this point)
  4. Thanks everyone for asking about the dog. His heart is incredibly enlarged and surrounded by a lot of fluid. We sort of knew this was happening. We had the vet that I cannot stand (she pushes you for all sorts of $$$$ procedures and then makes you feel like a jerk when you don't want to do them on your elderly dog). She went further to tell me that his liver and spleen are very enlarged, and that he has a massive tumor in his stomach. We are doing nothing about these things. Scooby doesn't seem to be in any pain, and she put him on about $300 worth of heart meds per month to "make him comfortable." Sigh. I spent over $1000 today. DH is going to be very not pleased. The two growths are absolutely disgusting. Can't have surgery to remove them b/c of the heart issue. He goes back Thursday and the vet is going to give him a local and see what she can to do get rid of them. Poor guy keeps lifting his tail way up in the air so this must hurt him a bit.
  5. And now I have to take the dog to the vet. He has a huge bleeding growth that looks like it is coming out of his rear end. UGH. The dog is in early heart failure as it is and I am very worried about what this could possibly be.
  6. Good morning! Had a wonderful trip this past long weekend in the Hamptons and NYC. Got to see my aunt and uncle, my best high school guy friend (who we haven't seen in 10 years), and two wonderful days to myself. I didn't realize how much I love the city (actually, I thought I hated it LOL) but now I'm wishing I lived there. I've also decided I want to travel alone regularly. DH says go get a job, LOL. Anyway, back to the grind here. -coffee -DS18 off to school (not sure i should add this to my list as I slept through it, LOL) -school with DS14 -eyelash appointment at 10 am -workout (leg day) -laundry -vacuum downstairs -really should go to Publix but will probably not... -do some research on end of season care for several shrubs/plants (never lived in this zone before so unsure of when I have to do certain things) -one outdoor yard chore -dinner (no DH tonight, so something premade)
  7. Good morning! i am leaving for a trip tomorrow to the Hamptons (to visit my aunt and uncle, uncle has cancer and very short time left) and then on to NYC to spend some time with some high school friends and alone as in all by myself as in no one to bother me! So many last minute things to do. -coffee -take DS14 to co-op at 8 -pick up international stamps from post office for project for DS14 (lived here 6 months, no idea where post office is...) -workout (maybe) -take DS18 to physical therapy at 12 -cross fingers that I can make it from physical therapy to co-op pickup on time (contemplating begging DH to do it but he is stressed at work) -pick DS14 up from co-op (must be in carline by 2:15 or else it is a disaster) -stop by tailor to pick up some items -figure out what DS18 needs from me in regards to his schoolwork (I think he needs to dictate some notes to me) -try to do some cooking so kids have lunch while I am gone -probably need to go to Publix to pick up stuff -pack -out to dinner (tomorrow is DH's birthday) -early to bed as flight leaves at 6 am tomorrow

  9. Good morning! Jen, same for me! DH and I went to Clemson so I had to stay up to watch the 3 Clemson rookies on the Raiders play. Will regret that today. DS18 still recuperating with his shoulder. I am unpleasanty surprised to see how half his teachers and admin at his school aren't really providing any work or guidance. -coffee -take DH's computer to work because he left it on the table.... -discuss school week with DS14 -workout (leg day) -laundry DONE: 3 -figure out dinner -straighten up a few clutter areas (bathroom, closet, kitchen desk to name a few) -work with DS18 on school work -drug store and grocery store -look for postcards for DS14's PAH English class assignment -dinner

  12. Good morning! 13. Praying for you and your family, Melissa! Just a regular day today. I think today (or tomorrow) will be the last day the nerve block is working on DS18's shoulder post-surgery so I need to make sure I'm keeping an eye on him and whether he needs pain pills or not. Other than that, a normal Thursday. -coffee -figure out dinner and take something out -school with DS14 -try to convince DS18 to do some school work (LOLOLOLOLOLOL) -workout (back, shoulders, biceps) -laundry DONE: 0 -call groomer -call school for PSAT 9 for DS14 (I don't think DS18's school does PSAT 9 so I may have to contact public high school we are zoned for, which I dread) -call homeschool cover group for official DS14 transcript for honor society application -order food for Clemson tailgate Saturday -grocery store for a few things -dinner -tweak resume for a job I found and apply (should probably do this earlier in the day when my mind is fresher, LOL)
  14. I hope everything goes well for him today. Prayers to you all.
  15. Good morning! I have been completely missing with the all day tailgating on Thursday, dealing with the after effects Friday, and the long weekend. DS18 had his shoulder surgery yesterday. It went great. The SLAP tear was much worse than the MRI showed but the doc is confident he will be able to play baseball again (whether the is ready in time for senior season is the question). He has a nerve block in so meds being pumped in continuously and he has a freakishly high threshold for pain so he hasn't had to take any pills for pain and really isn't hurting at all. So.... today -coffee -DH takes DS14 to co-op -workout (kickboxing) -shower -DS18 to PT at 10:45 -laundry -try to get some fresh air (it is so stinking hot) -pick up DS14 from co-op -iron out some details on my trip to the Hamptons and NYC next weekend -eyelash appointment at 5 -maybe stop at mall to check out end of season sales (I've lost 10 lbs need new stuff) -dinner (need to figure this out pronto) -early to bed (I had to check on DS18 every hour last night so running on fumes here)
  16. Good morning! Clemson football starts tonight! We are leaving home at 10 am to go set up the tailgate, walk around town, etc. Game starts at 8 pm....long, long day ahead. 18. Good morning! DIdn't sleep well last night, have a feeling today will be a real drag. -coffee -DS18 off to school -call surgeon's office -call school to let them know 18 will be out for almost 10 days (not sure why shoulder surgery requires 10ish days of no school, but apparently it does) -school with DS14 (he has a Spanish collage due tomorrow. UGH this is his least favorite thing in his least favorite subject and DH isnt here in case we have printing issues) -workout (Butts and Guts) -new cleaning people come at 11:30-12 ish (probably need to do a last minute run through the house to make sure everything is picked up) -make sure I have what we need for tailgating for Clemson game Thursday night -dinner (no idea) ETA: -call pest control with new credit care
  19. Good morning! DH has left for a few days of business travel. I love DH, but I love when he is gone...New cleaning people come tomorrow and we spent the entire day yesterday straightening stuff up, hanging up the last of the pictures (moved in March), and clearing away all those "we'll get to those later" piles. The house looks so peaceful and neat. I wish we could maintain this. I could. But no one else here seems capable. -coffee -DS18 off to school -DS14 to co-op from 9-3 (yay!) -go get SC drivers license........everyone else got theirs when we moved, I had forgotten my SS card and just haven't gone back -maybe go to mall -workout (cardio) -laundry DONE: 1 🙄 -do some filing of last year's homeschool paperwork, samples, syllabi, etc. -dinner (something easy)
  20. Good morning! MysteryJen, congrats to your son on his tennis victory! Hope everyone is doing well! -coffee -DS18 off to school -school with DS14 -laundry DONE: 0 -workout -send email to in-house recruiter about the law job I applied for -straighten up five areas of the house -maybe go to Homegoods (I have about $300 in gift cards) to look for some artwork to hang in foyer -maybe go to DS18's school during lunch (won't he love that...) while the school store is open to get a new decal for my car -go to mall (need Clemson colored cool clothing to wear for the game in one week and then the 3:30 game the following week where it will be a zillion degrees) -dinner (Italian pork chops and burnt butter spaghetti)
  22. Good afternoon! Thank you to everyone for your kind words about DS18 and his shoulder surgery and baseball implications. I really appreciate it. Welcome Soror! Jean, prayers for a wonderful camp! Done: -coffee -workout -eyelash appointment -school with DS14 (he still has work but my part with him is pretty much done) To Do: -laundry DONE: 0 -five clutter spots -clean five things -weed out workout clothes (I can barely close the drawer and I think I don't wear 80 percent of the stuff cram jammed in there) -dinner (considering I've taken nothing out.....either bacon and eggs or leftovers) -get DH to help me tweak my resume and come up with good cover letter language for this attorney job I really, really want
  23. And DS18 needs substantial shoulder surgery. He is about 50-50 for being ready to go for spring baseball. UGH. I hope he can remain motivated for his senior year knowing he may not play.
