  1. I've been searching for a while and can't find what I'm looking for. I want a general music curriculum that teaches basic music theory (rhythm, note values, etc.) through the introduction of various songs and introduces basic musical genres and music history. General music, rather than specific to classical composers or individual instruments. Does this exist??
  2. Well I think I'm losing the battle anyway, since we went in and talked to claires and can get them done there for $25 instead of $60 with a titanium earring to avoid potential allergies. We are in between jobs at the moment, praying for a fulltime offer to come in soon, so saving money is a huge thing. While I know it's not as good, if it were truly bad they wouldn't be able to continue doing piercings over so many years so it might have to do for now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I was quoted $20 per ear plus the price of jewelry, which they said starts at $20, so minimum of $60 total. What kind of back did the earrings your daughter get have? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Well I did find one that does kids with no mention of gauge of earring being an issue. I'll probably end up using them so long as I can talk my husband into the extra expense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm not entirely thrilled with the mall options here, but I may end up there if I can't find another option I'm comfortable with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. My daughter is turning 9 in a couple weeks and we promised she could get her ears pierced for her birthday. I contacted a local place that does professional piercings and tattoos and they said they could only do a 16 gauge hoop, but would be willing to do that if I wanted and said I could go back down to a smaller earring after they heal. Is that crazy big for a kid? I have no visual in my head of what that size difference is.
  7. I also rarely wear a bra - I have collected a bunch of shirts and dresses that have fronts that tend to "hide" it from others (dh and I have a code - I'll try on a shirt and he'll tell me if it works or not, that's my clue as to whether I can get away without a bra or no) If necessary I'll add a non-supportive cami under, and I have an infinity scarf that hides it when I wear a tighter fitting shirt. I'm also not very large up top, so that helps. I used some of the resources listed in this thread a while back and found 1 bra that fits mostly comfortably, but if I wear it, I still can't wait to take it off when I get home. Ironically my preteen is wearing training bras because she says they are more comfortable than nothing - so we regularly have conversations about choosing to dress in a way that makes you most comfortable!
  8. Ok tested negative! Quite relieved, now to kick this cold! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. So then what are you supposed to do?? I'm in my mid thirties, and drs all triple checked that we were for sure done before they allowed us to schedule the vasectomy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. The stupid thing is I threw away my last dollar store test after we got the all clear from the dr. I was sure that I would never need it again! My temp this morning was 99.1 which means 2 things: first, I ovulated for sure. Second, my period isn't starting today or tomorrow based on every cycle I've ever temped for. Historically this high of a temp was the peak right after ovulation; my post positive pregnancy test temps were not usually this high either... But I never kept temping after I got a positive test. I guess a trip into town today will be my next step. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Well honestly I'm already nervous, but that is interesting. I do know they claimed the method they used was the most effective... But obviously that is their opinion and other Dr's prefer other methods. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Interesting... Yes I think my husband had his follow up at 6 weeks? Or after a certain number of ejaculations, either way he received a call back telling him his sperm count was at zero. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I have no idea why they would have had to go back at 5 months. My husband had to submit a sample at some point after but once it came back clear we were told that he didn't need to return again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I just put me thermometer by the beside when I saw your comment! It's been so long since I've temped but that was the conclusion I came to, that without temps I had nothing to go on. My pregnant temps are not as conclusive as yours but it'll give me more info anyway. The weird thing about the first bit if ewcm was that I had a bit of spotting in it too. I've had ovulation spotting a lot over the years but never in the absence of ovulation. Ah well, morning will bring more info. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Lol, thanks for this, I have been down lately and you made me smile! I think I might vote for alien abduction! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Boo. Ok fine... If it's positive. But I'm drinking some tonight! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Yes I'll update... But I almost feel like congratulations would be more in order if it's negative. Wine and encouragement if it's positive! And maybe a full time job for my husband... And a house to live in...and a vehicle that can fit 7... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Well I did just drink my third cup of coffee for the day, and I much prefer red wine to bourbon. But I've been using fluticasone for the congestion and in the past when pregnant I literally avoid even pain meds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. About 20 minutes. But I don't have access to a car today. I can get one tomorrow. Sounds like I'm not crazy to test any way. Wish I'd have thought of it yesterday when I was in town. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. So I've read. The irony given my history of miscarriages and infertility would be huge. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. true, maybe stress impacted it. Maybe I shouldn't worry quite yet.
  22. I think I've lost my mind, but am probably worried about nothing... My cycles run 35 days and by keeping track of starting dates and ovulatory signs I am easily able to watch ovulation and know when to anticipate my next cycle starting. I have had only 1 wonky anovulatory cycle in the past 6 months. This month everything was on schedule. I ovulated on time based on cervical mucus plus a tiny bit of spotting, and then a week later had similar cervical mucus (unusual for me). Now I'm on day 42 with no period. I've gained several pounds in the past week (VERY unusual for me unless I'm pregnant -- weight gain is one of the first symptoms of my past 4 pregnancies) and I'm concerned about using meds to treat a persistent cold if it's possible I'm pregnant. Here's the catch - DH got a vasectomy about a year and a half ago, and we got an all clear about a month afterward. So the odds are really crazy. (but I suppose not quite as crazy as the odds that my cousin beat when she got pregnant naturally with identical triplets...) Should I just give it a few days and expect my period to show about a week late? Or should I test to be sure it's ok to take meds? Opinions?
  23. Great ideas, thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I want to create a project for my daughter to do for school next week that incorporates her lessons in a meaningful way and gives her a reason to stop fighting with me about school. haha Anyway, in history she's reading about Buddha (human odyssey v.1) , in writing she's reviewing how to write paragraphs for various purposes (paragraph town), in science she's learning about functional groups in chemistry/how chemistry impacts her life through commonly used items (carbon chemistry by mcHenry), and in math she just finished solving for an unknown variable, getting ready to start division (beast 3C). My current idea: Write and present a newscast explaining the differences between Buddha and Christianity. (this hits comparison paragraphs, and she will be required to use proper spelling/punctuation and incorporate her vocabulary words) How do I include math and science in a meaningful way?
