  1. "Roses are red" by Bobby Vinton. She loved all the music from that time. she always sang along when those oldies came on. "Roses.are red" was her favorite.
  2. I like to believe it's her way of letting me know she's still near😥. I miss her. It feels strange saying "going to visit dad next week". instead of "going to visit mom and dad next week".
  3. It seems okay here. Local Aldi's is over stocked with ham and turkey still but haven't cut the prices accordingly.
  4. I'm finishing "The Churchill Sisters" . I have "While Paris Slept" on hold at the library to read next.
  5. For 9 HR flight and packing. Temperature is expected.to be 30-50f. TIA
  6. Grandson loves Picasso tiles. He held the box with both arms wrapped around it when he went home. Granddaughter loved the belle and Ariel costumes/nightgown dresses. She put on the belle with the crown and twirled and posed as soon as she opened it. Melissa and Doug cutting food was also a big hit.
  7. a little off Christmas eve and a bit of local conversation....I dont think the city has a plan for accommodate all the apartment units and new housing going in. If they are doing rolling blackouts now I can't imagine what the situation will be in a couple years
  8. We haven't had any here yet. My son is in Owens cross roads and has had no electricity for hours. They are heading here earlier than planned.
  9. I planned out a baking rotation for the toaster oven and hoping I have enough propane to keep the grill heated to keep things warm.
  10. We replaced it 2 weeks ago and it went out.
  11. We do have a toaster oven. Hoping it doesn't got out from.over use.
  12. I did make red velvet brownies in the toaster oven. Praying the toaster oven it won't go.out from.over use.
  13. We replaced the element lasted 2 weeks. We are trying once more then looking for a new oven.
  14. My gingerbread bundt cake didn't quite get baked through. That is all😪
  15. The bottom.falls out here thursday. Hoping just cold and no precipitation. Im.so looking forward to my kids coming here Christmas Eve but my son loves an hour away over what we call a mountain here. They may have to camp out here. Well see. Navy kid is in Washington state and the base is closed for a couple.of days.
  16. Checking in. Hoping everyone is doing well. Weird shoulder issue passed thankfully. Got in a few weight workouts and a good kettle bell day. I Plan on ending the year strong lifting heavy, also hoping to counter all the holiday treats I plan to enjoy these never couple of weeks.
  17. navy kid and wife we sent Omaha steak package. Middle Ds and wife electric griddle, and will include mixing bowls, spatula, pancake mix, chocolate chips and syrup.
  18. Dd and I were practicing driving through the country side and saw a sign "chicken and turkey eggs for sale". Never crossed my mind that turkey eggs were a thing.
  19. We usually purchased in stores. I don't think I ever purchased a free style set my kids always wanted specific sets. I did have to buy one from Lego store on line for a specific set my son had asked for. When my boys were Lego age there weren't any sales and prices were consistent store to store. My oldest sold most of his star war sets which he now regrets. My youngest had a book shelf he displayed his legos.on but they are now in boxes waiting for him to settle someplace.more permanent. My dd would put sets together, play with them for a.while then dismantle and put them back in their box.
  20. Had a great week keeping up with my workout routine then darn it, slept weird on my shoulder the other night. No weights for a few days so I opted for sprints, ab work and stretching yesterday and today walking, step ups without weights, abductors and Pilate abs work. This will be rotated through the week to give my shoulder a rest before picking up weights again.
  21. I kept a list of a few things he mentioned wanting to get the last few months. A self healing cutting mat, desk calendar(its some I get him every year and just wrap and put under the tree for fun), a Thermal coffee mug, and a chair caddy.
  22. I love having my house all lit up. I turn on all the Christmas lights when I get up and leave them in until I go to bed. I thought I wouldn't be able to handle Christmas this year. I did cry a bit as dd and I decorated thinking about my mom but I know she wouldn't have wanted me to not have my house decorated the way I love to on Christmas. I love walking my neighborhood at night with all the lights people have on their homes. Like my mom I love Christmas music. I still have her time life records of Christmas music. I love having little ones around again. I love baking the things I save just for Christmas season.
  23. And it turns out her other grandma bought the same thing and already gave it to her. Would it be weird if I give her mine as planned. I was thinking she could use 2 since the three littles are so close in age they'll be night fighting over who gets to play next.
  24. I am still in the makeup habit. Not like 80's/90 but more updated ahem...mature lighter makeup that covers a few annoying spots that probably no one notices but me. If your curious I found Laura Geller balance and brighten helps with said sunspots.
