  1. I've caught my boys doing some pretty stupid things. I think it's more boys wanting to be dare devils just because. I know my ADD son is more courageous and less cautious than his brothers when he's not focused.
  2. If repairs are becoming more than a payment on a good used car go for the good used car and pay it off as fast as you can.
  3. We have started eating healthier, no processed or prepackaged foods. I really think this contributes to no one being sick this season.
  4. We live in N Alabama it's very cheap living here. We really don't see much difference in anything. Yes the gas prices a little but it's still very cheap to live here it does not affect us much. I know we'd feel it if we moved back to AZ
  5. Does dh company have an employee's club? My dh got discount tickets from one company he worked for.
  6. Ditto with the others. Why go back into that much debt when you don't have to? There are very good used cars out there.
  7. I was just wondering do you think spelling will come naturally to her? I guess from the interview the parents were trying to figure out what to do for her. I was thinking keep doing what you're doing don't make that sweet little girl someones science experiment.
  8. Thanks for the warning. I want my dd to have long hair but we have to keep her bangs trimmed because she will not keep it up out of her face. I have tried every hair doodad out there and she'll leave if for a few minutes then out it comes.....sigh. We'll see how this turns out. She is only 2.5 now. Oh I did get some leave in spray conditioner from Cost Cutters I think it's their brand that I spray on her hair right when I towel her off to get into the habit. It might work for your dd. Any spray conditioner should work.
  9. You may not get your money back. However your house might sell faster than other houses of equal value that do not have updated appliances.
  10. We switched to a healthier diet just about the time food prices began rising rapidly so I started spending more anyways. I have noticed since I make my own cookies, cut out lunch meat actually most meats and upped the veg, beans, cook with more tofu, brown rice 1. we feel so much better, 2. the kids get fuller fast don't want to snack as much 3. We have not been to the doctor for illness since we started eating better. It kind of all just evened out. It is only going to get worse so the choice is to either evaluate everything you buy and decide what you can live without or increase the food budget.
  11. One idea is to set a time for say 45min that she has to play quietly while mom works then when the timer goes off you will stop what you are doing and play with her and only her for a set amount of time.
  12. You can't please all the people all the time. Sunday schools and the celebrations the church chooses to have are going to ruffle some feathers and there's not much you can do about it. Are these things important to me not really depends on the church.
  13. It depends. Just because it's a private school no. Because they are known for excellence in education and offer amazing programs my kids would benefit from and majority of students get into top schools yes.
  14. I do eat fruit. My snacks are usually go lean crunch from the box, almonds, celery with p.butter and raisens, ezekiel bread with fat free cottage cheese, cheese and low fat wheat thins, fat free yogert and a piece of fruit,
  15. Rent an RV and travel cross country, Travel through new england in the fall, Rent a cabin in the smokies, Go to alaska. I am not a beach person, I don't want to travel abroad until I've seen it all here in the USA, Disney is fun but I would do something more adventurous once in a life time like travelign coast to coast.
  16. Of course, it's tradition. Baskets and egg hunts for the 2 little ones and chocolate bunnies and peeps for the teens and a couple very well hidden eggs for them to find.
  17. There might not be a specific why. My son just didn't like the "feeling" of pottying. Which made no sense because the alternative seemed worse. With my son we figured it he became constipated and it hurt to go when he was really young and became scared after that.
  18. I love watching the old videos. Time goes by so fast. It's so funny to here their future selves messages i.e. "Hey future Zac do you still like XYZ??" or my favorite "Future G don't forget to slug Z for ....."
  19. It could be that he is holding is bm and there is some that leaks out. I think it's called encopresis. A visit to the pediatrician to be sure sometimes a 24hr hosiptal stay if they have become very impacted.
  20. They were great for 2 years after having my daughter. Now that I actually lost the weight I was trying to hide I don't wear them anymore. Yes they are worth the $
  21. I have a style that I like to wear that I consider metro casual and have been told that I always look "put together". I guess one would consider that dressed up but it's really no more effort than sweats, it's just what I put on when I get dressed. For make up it's everyday but most days I keep it simple with just mineral viel, warmth, and mascara.
  22. A very mature 10 year old if it's just running to the market for under 1 hour. 11 for 2 hours. 12 for 2 or more hours. Now I have a 15 year old :D My 12.5 and 8 year old can stay home with him for a couple hours or more. Not that they're bad or annoying when they come with us but they don't want to run errands any more unless it's something they getting.
