  1. I have no opinion on anything. They can do whatever they want/can afford. Dh strongly wishes to be buried and not cremated but I don’t care at all.
  2. Beautifully written. I’m in tears. Her hope shines through, too.
  3. Roomba runs 2-3 times a week and I vacuum with the upright about once a week. We have a black lab, so even that really isn't enough, but it's all I've got.
  4. The one thing that pops to mind is something I’m not ready to do, lol. I’m with Jean in that it’s hard to predict what opportunities will be presented this year.
  5. Vasovagal response, maybe? I think a few sessions with a trainer and a check up at the dr would both be helpful.
  6. When gift giving to multiple kids (not grown, still at home), what is more important to you? There's no option for dollar value and number being the same, because that would be the ultimate in keeping everything equal.
  7. I don't think ending up with a kitchen you resent will help your friendship. I would pay her for her time and find someone else. "Friend, I really value your time and friendship but if you cannot source the materials I am looking for, then I think it's best that I pay you for the work you've put in and have someone else finish out the project. What would be fair?" She'll either find a new supplier or give you a number.
  8. They’ll send her a check for either the cost of the fix or the value of the car- whichever is lower.
  9. The insurance company will actually be the ones to tell you whether it’s totalled or not. Rav 4 is a good small suv.
  10. No, it wouldn't bug me. But I also would never want to be the sole provider of food for a group that large.
  11. Using my bullet journal to stay on top of life. Staying connected to my kids by doing spontaneously fun things. Learning. Teaching.
  12. Totally cliche, but I would like to start eating better and exercising more. Specifically, I plan to walk 4-5 days a week and cut down grains and sugar.
  13. I'm thinking of getting DD one of these. https://www.amazon.com/Emergency-Personal-EXTREME-Premium-Portable/dp/B077BVDNMX/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1513788919&sr=8-3&keywords=personal+alarm She works into the wee hours of the night on a regular basis and her parking can sometimes be a walk from her house. Do any of you have experience with these? are they effective? safe? In one sense, this seems like it would definitely take someone off guard. The only thing that makes me hesitate is that if they had a weapon, they might be surprised into using it. I'm not sure if that's a rational fear or not. Then the alternative would be what? Pepper spray? Thoughts?
  14. That’s my dad. He grew up without a mom so he just puts himself in a corner and quietly takes care of himself. My parents divorced and my mom remarried a wonderful man, who is a champion at the man cold. World class. My mom has taken to calling him bunny when he’s sick, and he has no idea what the reference is. Cracks me up.
  15. We loved clearplay back in the day. Our kids are older and we watch everything streaming now. We recently rewatched Transformers (the movie that inspired us to get clearplay) and WOW I forgot how much crude sexual content was in the unedited version.
  16. Love her name! Irene was my great-grandmother and she is a LEGEND in our family. A very strong woman who always kept laughter in the house. Congratulations!
  17. The only person who has ever said a thing to dd about modesty was a homeschool friend. Not even one from a strict family, or anything. Quite the opposite. But this little girl was very black and white and took it upon herself to openly criticize the other girls if she thought their shorts were too short.
  18. Sounds like she got a great instructor.
  19. I told my kids to get my gift at TJ's. Just go and buy me something- food, creams, candles, face masks...I don't care. It all looks fun!
  20. https://www.amazon.com/Inflatable-Lounger-Vansky-Portable-Backyard/dp/B071L9QJ8G This was a huge hit last year. It folds down into a small bag, perfect for bringing to the beach.
  21. Our kids can surprise us sometimes. She might react differently with this instructor than she would with you. I would let it play out. She might be braver than she realizes. Driving is a really good and important skill. It’s great that she’s taking this step.
  22. Grow 2017’s word was Hope and God used that in a mighty way. 2018, it’s time to grow, which scares me a little bit, because growing tends to be painful.
