  1. My oldest has received a good, solid education. But for some reason today it's hit me we have no more time for finishing something over the summer or next year. It's stupid, but I'm worried we won't get everything done by the end of this semester. Her graduation ceremony is in June. I'm now officially in a panic. I just want more time. Please tell me this feeling will go away...sooner rather than later. ETA I mean next semester by the beginning of June but you guys probably knew what I meant anyway.
  2. Wonderful! Congratulations to you both. :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:

    Humbug poll

For me, Christmas is a holy day and season, a day we set aside to celebrate the birth of Jesus. I love the Chrstmas season, but have come to feel very sad about the commercialism surrounding it.
  4. I was part of the beta test and loved it so much I subscribed as my Christmas present to me. We'll use it for school, but really it's mostly for me. It is expensive though.
  5. This helps a lot! Thanks. My daugher is studying geometry with me using BJU 3rd edition. I'm okay with teaching it myself, but it would be nice to have a backup for those times I'm working.
  6. We're using BJU geometry text for my younger daughter. She's doing well, but I was wondering if the class would be a good supplement since it's on sale for $99 today. My budget is tight and $99 is a lot right at Christmas, but if it's a good class maybe it would be worth the cost and maybe take some teaching pressure off me. I would really appreciate any feedback. Thanks. edited: spelling
  7. Petty cash is a great idea! I also keep some cash in the car, but never thought of keeping cash at home.Just last night, my girls needed some cash for an event. I had some in my purse this time, but there's been plenty of times when I haven't any.
  8. I checked the website, but I'm confused about how distance learning works with BJU. My daughters have taken online classes but never with BJU. Could someone please explain. Thanks so much.
  9. In our county, tuition is waived for juniors and seniors at our community college. I have to buy books and pay any supply fees. It's a great opportunity to earn college credit cheaply. Free tuition is not state wide though. A friend is lives in a nearby county. There her teens have to pay tuition for dual credit classes.
  10. Praying for her and you! I would get a second opinion so you have a much information as possible.
  11. Hi, My 15 yo daughter is an artist and wants a tablet for Christmas, but I'm really confused by the different models. Does anybody know what tablets are good for beginners in digital art and are not too expensive? Anybody know anything about Wacom Intuos Art pen and touch? Is the quality any good? She's read that it may lag between the time you draw and it appears on the screens. Recommendations much appreciated. Thanks so much!
  12. I left a pair of shoes at Walmart a few months ago. The cashier turned them in to customer service. All I had to do was show the receipt. I've left small items, no more than a couple of dollars, but didn't want to wait in the almost always long line at customer service to get them or a refund. It's annoying, but my time is worth something too.
  13. Hello and Happy Thanksgiving! I'm a single mom of 2 wonderful daughters. Both are in high school this year,a senior and a freshman. I thought it would be easy with my younger daughter, but as usual it's not. Her interests and strengths are very different from her sister's. I'm amazed at how much information is available here and am looking forward to participating. Happy Thanksgiving to all! Eliz
  14. We're a small family too and are having meatloaf! None of us really like turkey that much. Plus as you said, it's a lot of work. We are having stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and cranberry sauce. We've looking forward to an easy Thanksgiving this year.
