  1. I haven't read all the replies yet. This is full of errors in grammar. I know I make errors, and don't proof read my replies like I should. However, I do proof read blogs, letters or other pieces meant for others to view. Her research was very lacking. This was just writtem so poorly. I am at a loss for words here.
  2. We gave our washer & dryer away when we moved here since the appliances were already here. We were suprised too, but the appliance here were all old, and have broken one by one, plus the well went dry too. There are issues with this house, it is not perfect, but it is a roof over our head, and the best we can do at the moment.
  3. I sent an email informing them of the problem, and asked which repairman they prefer. Sometimes repairs cost more than the appliance is worth. So far all appliances have been replaced except the washing maching. Not to mention they even had to dig a new well. So I don't like to bother her with anything new.
  4. Our dryer broke last week. The landlord brought another one over today. They brought a used dryer, that is about 4 years old. It was not their dryer, but a strangers, either free or cheap. The dryer bangs on every turn, not to mention the filter was not cleaned, and it has a very strong dryer sheet odor. How does one complain about something like this? "Oh by the way this dryer has issues." I find it odd they didn't get a new one because dryers are not that expensive, the previous one was 17 years old. Really? If Ihad known it would be a used one from anyone's ad, I could have done that myself and saved them the hassle. I am so disappointed. The smell is just making me sick. I hate to complain, I am not complaining about the smell but the banging.
  5. Right now at Lands End they have some yoga pants but not in the slim size. I did see where Childrens Place is having a good sale at the moment. I haven't tried Target yet either. We used to shop at Gymboree, and would juggle sales and Gymbucks but their knit pants were always too big in the waist. Maybe she is ultra slim. She is 7 now. Sometimes I have found European clothes on clearance, and they seem to fit better, but it is hard finding them marked down enough to where they are affordable, plus I have never noticed any European yoga pants. I quit shopping at Gymboree about a year ago because Janie and Jack made me mad. They double charged me causing my account to go into overdraft more than $300. I suppose I can quit being so stubborn and try them out again.
  6. Yoga pants are comfortable for wearing at home plus they are inexpensive. The problem is mydd has such a tiny waist they either fall off or are too short. Why can't I find yoga pants to fit her? I have this same problem with my boy and sweats. The drawstrings just don't pull enough, or if they do it just looks weird because it was pulled so much. I never had this problem with my oldest. Did they change the waist sizes? Do they make yoga pants and sweats in slim sizing for kids? I get so tired of having to buy jeans with adjustable waist. I mostly buy dresses and tights so I don't have to deal with it. I can't even buy the cheap knit shorts because of the waist issue. What does everyone else do?
  7. You should help her to write a strong language letter to the credit reporting agencies and the mtg company. They are in violation of the fair credit reporting act by reporting inaccurate information, and can be fined per incident. I would send the letter by certified mail. This is deflamation of character. I would mention they will be held accountable for the interest rate difference she could have got. here is an expample of what to say "Reporting information that you know to be inacurate, or failing to report information correctly, violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act." Make sure to send the letters certified.
  8. Others mentioned these already. Is there a K12 virtual academy in your state? That would be free. If Connections Academy is in your state that would also be free. These two have quality curriculums. If money is an option, and there is not any free virtual academy in your state I would use something like Ambleside Online. This way most of the books can be borrowed from the library. Another option could be Calvert, you could write a letter to them explaining your financial circumstances and ask for a scholarship, they may pay a huge portion. I would go with a boxed free curriculum for her this year. It takes the stress out of planning, and is easy on the pocketbook. There would be no way the mom could object since it is state run.
  9. urine gone works good. I would spray the clothes, and put some in the laundry to soak. I am suprised she didn't wash the clothes first.
  10. I am not sure if others have mentioned this yet. I would request a computer or three. Be honest tell them it is not in your budget to purchase computers. It may take a little adjustment, but I think overall you will like the program.
  11. We once found ourselves having to move immediatly. We were renting a house, and the owner wanted to move back into the house. We wanted to purchase a house and stop renting. We found a house we adored, but it had big problems attached. The house was part of an estate, it had been on the market for a while. The owners agreed to let us move into this house, so we did. The house appraised for less than the asking price. If the owners would have lowered the price, we could have got the house, but hey refused to budge. They refused to grasp the concept a bank would not loan $20,000 more than the house was worth. One of the siblings came over the morning after Christmas telling us to get out immediatly. We were so embarassed by this, not to mention heartbroken. My husband had already spent a week reparing walls in two rooms, and painted them. The house needed major work. I literely packed in a day, non-stop. We put everything but a few changes of clothes into storage. We found a cheap motel that was in a small non dangerous location. We lived in a motel for 2 months with our kids and 2 cats until we found another house to rent. While this was not ideal it was the best we could do at that time.
  12. I would suggest not getting a calico. My vet says they are the most moody. I have a calico that I found alone 14 years ago, and she is moody. My son adopted a calico that the owners no longer wanted, and she is extremely moody. I think she needs the cat whisper to pay her a visit.
  13. We signed up for this year. Yes geography is included with history. Composition is included with the language arts program. The grammer is from Loyola press, and I believe the writing program is too. The Language Arts has spelling, grammar, composition, and literature. Since this will be our first year, I don't know much more.
  14. I would pick 3 colors that you like and look nice together, and go with those three colors. What about some colorful bins in the shelves or some of the shelves? What about a pretty colorful desk set? I saw in a magizine once, where you can take a soup can, glue fabric to it, and make it a pencil and pen holder. What about making a small fabric bulletin board? I am not a decorator.
  15. Believe it or not, you can find cleaning supplies online with little shipping charge from places like Luckyvitamin.com, shipping is $4.99 I believe. The price is comparable, if not cheaper than locally. I figure the shipping charge is driving time and gas money.
  16. :grouphug: I know how you feel. Just remember he lives on in your heart.
  17. Biokleen I really love their products, and they work.
  18. There is a camping cookbook, I can't recall the name of it off hand. Maybe someone else will post the name of it. We checked it out from the library, and had fun with that. We had one of those sandwich press things for using on an open fire, and a fork. My aunt, who camps more than I ever had, learned a lot from that book.
  19. Yes I will be going elsewhere from now on. The reciepts from this po are only for the amount of service, they are not detailed like a regular po. I did call and file a complaint with USPS customer service. They will call me back in 2 days.
  20. There is a small post office close by. I went last month to send a certified letter. The clerk was on the phone, it didn't bother me too much because she usually is when I go there. She handed me the form to fill out while she was on the phone. I couldn't quite figure out how to fill it out so did the best I could. I asked her if it was done correctly, and she said yes. Well, it was not done correctly, as the letter went to my post office box and not where it should have. I politely told her this today, and asked if she could give me a refund. She was rude and said no, no refund, no credit no nothing. She must be her own boss because she is always the only one there. I had my proof of purchase and everything. After this I will no longer go to that post office again. How would you handle this?
  21. Yes the Walmart close by here has also changed for the worst. The prices have gone up a lot. I used to purchase some items there, but noticed the price kept creeping up little by little until it was just slightly under the price of other stores. They stopped having lots of things I did purchase there at lower prices. It is not so crowded if you get up and go early in the morning. I made a huge mistake of going one evening. That trip was a night mare. All the open check out lines were long, the one I got in, the woman had her daughter go pick up about 15 different items while being checked out, and she had 2 buggies overflowing. I rarely shop there anymore, if I can't save money what is the point? It just take too much time, is unpleasant, and does not save me any money. The remodeling has done little for their image. They must be going for a more upscale look or something, but it did not work.
  22. Yes they should work to support their family. I have known many who had full time jobs.
  23. I am in total shock. How dare he request such a huge monthly sum, and intimidate to make you do it or else. I would not return, and I would do my best to let others see this man needs to repent or get out of the church.
  24. No we hav enever done that, at least not yet anyway. This year will be different. We did sign up with a virtual academy, and will supplement to the best of our ability. This is due to financial reasons, we just don't have the money to get what we prefer this year, plus can be too time consuming shopping for used curriculum we want at a price we can afford. I think this can work. At first I was disappointed with the curriuclum, knowing it was not my first choice, however it is still quality curriuclum. It will be much easier using the virtual academy, and free up limited funds. I say try it out, and if it does not work for you, then you can always withdraw.
  25. I say give a call and explain why you are making the appointment. No you should not have to pay.
