  1. UPDATE: The print version is now available too, for a low introductory price!
  2. Chris, Thanks. Love the emoji, by the way! Yes, it was a tough decision...Peace Hill Press has a lovely ring to it, but people often don't associate the name with the products. We wanted a more direct connection, though we may still incorporate the Peace Hill Press name/phrase into our materials in some way. Justin
  3. Shhh...don't tell anybody yet. But yes. Since our books all follow the methods described in The Well-Trained Mind, the new name makes the connection between our curricula and the WTM book itself a lot clearer. Nothing else has changed except for the name. Over the next few months we’ll be working on changing the website, our mailing address, and other places where Peace Hill Press appears over to Well-Trained Mind Press, but this won’t affect our operations at all.
  4. Hello all, Peace Hill Press is excited to enter the world of math books, with "Preschool Math at Home: Simple Activities to Build the Best Possible Foundation for Your Child," by Kate Snow, of the "Kate's Homeschool Math Help" blog. It is now available in paperback or as a PDF, for a special introductory price. Check it out! Justin from Peace Hill Press
  5. Hi Ellen, The buy-four discount should apply to ANY format, as long as you're buying all four in the same format. If it doesn't work for you, please call our office at 1.877.322.3445 and we'll straighten it out for you. Page lengths: Theodora: 44 pages Amerigo: 44 pages Gutenberg: 42 pages Ethelred: 50 pages Audio lengths: they are all approximately half an hour, give or take a couple of minutes.
  6. They've been around for a few years, but they're not as well-known as some of our other books. We hope to change that!
  7. Hi there, forum folks! We at Peace Hill Press wanted to remind you that all through January, we have dropped the prices on our "Who in the World?" biographies by 20 percent! This applies to all formats: the books, the PDF downloads, and the audio versions read by Jim Weiss (in both MP3 and CD versions). And, if you buy all four biographies at once (The Secretive Printer, the Unready King, the Acrobatic Empress, and the Forgotten Explorer), you'll save 30% off the cover price! Browse them here.
  8. Throughout December, Peace Hill Press is rolling out a variety of sales...free items, low prices, and a partridge in a pear tree. Check out the dates and the savings at http://peacehillpress.com/current-offers/
  9. Thanks for the enthusiastic responses! To those of you who asked: yes, we are working on getting these Jim Weiss products into iTunes, Audible, etc. In the meantime, almost all of them are available as downloadable MP3s on our website. Usually the description of the CD version of each product contains a link to the MP3 version....or scroll down to near the bottom of the "Jim Weiss" page to see the MP3s.
  10. Well-Trained Mind Community, We are excited to announce that beloved storyteller Jim Weiss has joined Peace Hill Press! Here is a letter from Susan Wise Bauer with more details: All of us at Peace Hill Press are absolutely delighted that Jim Weiss has chosen us to carry on with the publication of his award-winning and much-loved stories. Jim and Randy have been my friends since we first started running into each other at home education conferences, over a decade ago. We’ve shared our meals, our homes, our stories about our kids, our frustrations, and our creative hopes with each other. My four children (the oldest is now twenty-three!) grew up with Jim’s stories; in fact, I once had Jim’s voice on my answering machine saying “Hello, Bauers!” for months because he called and left a message, and the boys wouldn’t let me erase it. My youngest daughter, now fourteen, still falls asleep with Sweet Dreams and Good Night after a tough day. When Jim recorded the Story of the World series for us, our friendship became a professional relationship. And that professional relationship has now taken on a new dimension. By publishing, selling, and promoting Jim’s work, we’ll be opening up a space for him to do even more storytelling. We’re going to take on the burden of the business side of his operation so that his creative side can be set free! Jim is looking forward to creating new stories every year for Peace Hill Press, and we can’t wait to bring those recordings to you. For the latest and greatest news about what Jim’s up to (teaser: it won’t just be audio CDs!), please consider signing up for Peace Hill Press’s email notification list. Visit peacehillpress.com. We’ll never spam you. We’ll just let you know what wonderful things Jim’s working on! Susan (Note from Justin: Visit peacehillpress.com/jim-weiss to see the titles we're now offering. For a limited time, you can enter the code JIMWEISS at checkout to save 10% on your order.)
  11. Terabith, we are planning on a Spring 2017 release for Volume 4, which will cover the book of Acts and the New Testament epistles. Follow the Olive Branch Books facebook page for more updates.
  12. Peace Hill Press (through its religious-education line, Olive Branch Books) has a curriculum that sounds exactly like what you're looking for. (full disclosure: I help to produce these books...but honestly, they are great!) It's called Telling God's Story. The first 3 years focus on the life, teachings, and miracles of Jesus. Each short lesson in the instructor book is based on a passage from the Gospels, and gives the teacher/parent any background information they'll need. The optional Activity Book provides coloring pages, crafts, recipes, memory work, and put-it-into-practice activities that are age-appropriate for students in grades K-4. We answered some questions about the curriculum here. And here's a video of one of the authors explaining our approach. Let me know if I can answer other questions about it.
  13. So you're starting school next week, and you just realized that you forgot to order textbooks. Should you panic? No! (Well, not about this, anyway. Feel free to panic about other things.) Instead of panicking, rejoice! Your procrastination has paid off. For a limited time, just about everything on our website is 15% off. It's our "last minute panic sale." You're welcome.
  14. Cari and Azamywy, we are working on a Study & Teaching Guide for "The History of the Renaissance World," and we hope to release it in time for the2016-2017 school year.
  15. Update: We also offer licenses to schools who would like to make copies of these questions for their classes. Any schools wishing to purchase a reprint license can contact Peace Hill Press at 1.877.322.3445.
  16. Thanks. We always try to throw in at least one that's...um..."off-topic." For a while it was Sean Connery, then Ryan Gosling. Lately we're on a Cumberbatch kick. We know our audience. :tongue_smilie:
  17. Hi all, Thanks to widespread customer demand, we have created written versions of the oral "discussion questions" that are found in every chapter of the Story of the World Activity Books. These written versions, with blanks for the student to write the answers, can be given out as homework assignments or review worksheets. You, of course, will have the answers in your Activity Book, but now the student won't have them. :) Download these PDF packs from our site...we typed 'em up so you don't have to. This way you can enjoy your summer :) Descriptions and samples: Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3, and Volume 4. OR SAVE $6 when you buy all 4 in one bundle! Let me know if you have any questions...
  18. Jean, Yes! That book has come out. It's available on our webstore, here. By the end of this year it will also be available on Amazon.
  19. SebastianCat: Yes, we have made the book available to Rainbow and other such vendors. If they order it from us, they would certainly have it by late May. Their number is 1.888.841.3456 if you want to get the latest status on that book.
  20. I'm happy to announce that the printed version is now available on our site, here! We've sent a batch to Amazon, as well, but they still aren't listing it as available yet. So for now it's just us.
  21. Reminder....the 29.95 introductory price for this massive PDF will expire on Friday, April 3rd. Order now to save $5!
  22. Amazon is still listing our original predicted date (Jan 2016). When we found out that we would be able to produce it faster than expected, we updated them, but they have not revised their information yet. Sorry! The print version should be available from our website in just a couple of weeks, and in several bookstores a month after that. Hopefully Amazon will update their site soon.
  23. Ethel: no...Amazon doesn't seem to have a page for it yet, and we're not taking pre-orders on our store. We'll let y'all know as soon as it becomes available for purchase.
