  1. Thanks that is very helpful narrow gate. I am assuming that the numbers are the section numbers? Correct? How long each day did this take?
  2. We are going to be using latin alive 1 next year. I also have the DVDs. I can't figure out how to schedule the work for the week. Do we watch the video on one day and then do the workbook reading and stuff the other days or break the video into sections and do the workbook with that section? I guess I am curious what others did that worked. Thanks!
  3. My DD needs to ask a missionary some questions for AWANA Wednesday night. If you are a missionary and wouldn't mind answering them, we would appreciate it 1. Where do you work? 2. what is your job? 3. Where do you live? 4. Do you like your job? Thanks!
  4. Thanks! That is helpful. I was thinking about using Latin Alive! with the older dd. :001_smile:
  5. I also have an older dd 11 who will be in 7th grade next year. Do you think I could combine both of them in A or should I have the older one in a different level. She has also had some latin, but I don't think much of it has stuck.
  6. I need help figuring out where to place my dd9 in Latin For Children. She will be in 4th grade next year. She has had some latin already. Last year she did Prima Latina and this year she is doing Latin's not so tough level 2. Should she start in level A or a higher level?
  7. Can someone tell me the differences between the two editions? I have looked at the 2nd ed samples online and I really like it. But I found a 1st ed for sale that is a really good price, so I am wondering if they are really similar or not.
  8. I am searching for a science curriculum for my kids for next year, grades 2, 3, and 6. I would combine the 2nd and 3rd grade kids using the 3rd grade materials. We already use some BJU materials and I am wondering if someone can tell me about their science. Do kids enjoy it? How much teacher involvement and planning is there? Anything else that would be good to know? Thanks
  9. Can you tell me what you like/dislike about the program (light blue series) and any other pros/cons? Thanks
  10. How did you beef it up? My rising 4th grader wants to do American history next year. I will also have a 1st grader who I would like to combine with her sister. Any suggestions? Thanks
  11. We did not make it through Bigger. We dropped science after a few weeks and we tweaked the other things a lot and then we dropped it completely about a month ago. My oldest DD is 8 (almost 9) and is a great reader, doing well in math and can write well too. My second DD is 6 and is reading well too. She has done great with phonics this year and is writing well too. I would be interested in knowing how you combined your kids in Adventures. Thanks
  12. We started out this year using LHFHG (for k) and BHFHG (for 3rd). It just did not work for us. My older DD was not remember the things we were learning about and the science was not working. The activities in Little Hearts were too easy for my younger DD. I am torn about what to do next year. I can keep them both separate and do work at their grade level (except science which we will do together) or try to combine as much as possible. I am drawn towards combining since I do have four younger kids at home, the youngest two being twins. I have been drawn to MFW since we stared homeschooling, but I have never used it. Will I like MFW if I did not like HOD? Or is it different enough that I may like it? Thanks
  13. Would MFW adventures be able to be used with a 1st and 4th grader? I am thinking just the history. Would it be too much for the 1st and too little for the 4th? What about ECC? Could I combine a 1st and 4th for just the geography? Any opinions? Thanks
  14. I am looking into BJU for next year for my 1st and 4th grader. I am specifically looking at Reading, Bible Truths, Heritage Studies, Writing and Grammar, and possibly spelling. If you use these could you tell me what you like and dislike. Also are the teachers manuals needed? Thanks
