  1. Even though I have registered, it still says "Just Visiting" under my user name when I post. Is there something else I need to do to become a member, rather than a visitor?
  2. Wow, this is great information for us newbie's! I hope to see more posts.:bigear:
  3. Thanks! That's just what I needed to know:001_smile:.
  4. I am using Rocket Phonics with my two 3.5 year olds (we are going very slow and having lots of fun with letters and letter sounds; one child is blending). It is great because the repetition is through fun games and you can do as much or as little as needed.
  5. I was planning to order Singapore Math Earlybird 1A, 1B, 2A, and 2B but am finding there is now a different version of it out. My understanding is that the original version was for ages 4 to 6 and I can't find anything regarding the new version. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the new version and the original version?
  6. Thanks again Sarah, much appreciated!
  7. Thanks Sarah TB, I appreciate the feedback. Have you felt the need to supplement with another Christian curriculum? I have heard that Year 1 is tied into the Bible very well but the other years not so much. Have you found that to be true?
  8. I have two sons who will be four in the fall.:D They are six weeks apart in age (adopted from Russia). We have a while to wait but I enjoy learning about all of the options, like being organized and want to have a plan in advance. Thanks for your feedback. It is interesting to hear what others have done. Any other feedback?:bigear:
  9. I have been researching various options and homeschooling materials. I love TWTM and definitely want to go with a classical education for my two sons, along with a strong Christian foundation. I have research TOG and really like what I see, even though I may have to supplement the Christian training. I am still doing more research here, to see how closely TOG ties to TWTM (if anyone else has already done this and can provided feedback, it would be greatly appreciated). I am wondering if it might make more sense to follow TWTM during the grammar years and then start using TOG around fifth grade. I like that TOG has lots of aids to help teachers guide students in analizing materials they have read. I think I will need that help, as I did not have that type of classical education (I'm looking forward to experiencing it with my sons). I can see pros and cons for this. It would be good to get the experience of using TOG while the kids are young and it would also allow me to start reading and learning the materials in the upper levels earlier. At the same time, it seems TOG might be a bit overkill for the earlier years...but then again, it would be good to get it paid for in the first four years of school, while the cost of books are a bit less. I go back and forth on this and just wanted to find out if anyone else has struggled with this, the choice you made and how it has worked out for you (any regrets with your choice?). For those of you who have already been through it, would you do anything differently if you had it to do over again? I will be praying about it and I still have a bit of time before I decide but I am an early planner:). Thanks in advance for your feedback.
