  1. I have had two, but they were at the normal time 17-20 weeks... They are super easy, not vaginal or anything crazy ;) My is because of family history and the cardio told me that if anything was wrong with the baby they would like to know the extent of it before labor. Labors can be stressful on the baby and if there is a large need of concern I would have to deliver va c-section where there are pediatric cardiologists available. Even though yours is later, you are very blessed to have found it. I would much rather be safe then sorry later... Not all heart conditions need surgery, and if they do not always right away. Even if they do technology is wonderful now and your little one will more then likely live a perfectly long, healthy, enjoyable life without major restrictions. I dont know his/her situation though, just stating from someone who had heart surgery as an infant and again in their mid twenties and expecting another someday.
  2. I would also do high fiber diet - it has been proven to lower estrogen levels.
  3. My OBGYN at Mayo Clinic said even though the 'statistics' are higher they see more issues with younger women who do not eat healthy, take prenatal/folic acid, ect... Clearly - according to Mayo Clinic, if you are healthy then I would go for it! Your odds are much better then an 18 year old who spend the last 6 months getting high/drunk.
  4. We also like the Middle and that 80's Show after it.... but it always gets turned off before Modern Family. Boy Meets World - the early years, Home Improvement and Full House are classics. Wish they made more like them..
  5. My daughter had it bad last summer... dont be surprised when his toe nails peel/fall off in a few weeks!
  6. I love this!! Wish I would have new about this a month ago before I spent $90 on something from Turkey ;) I might have to get these just to have them!
  7. I just bought this swimsuit... I LOVE it :) Well, I wish the top was a bit longer, I have a long torso but the bottoms are great. https://modli.co/coral-adele-two-piece-swim-set.html
  8. Reminds me of one of my favorite songs by Miranda Lambert, The House That Built Me...
  9. I think the OP was just trying to ask/see if anyone homeschools because of medical issues (not if one reason or another is better!!). Come on people.... OP, I could see families with serious heath issues homeschooling - my reasons are not that, but if I didnt have those and DD had heath risks or issues at could be worse because of public school I would definitely home school.
  10. I know this was not directed to me, but I think you are confusing two completely different things. I have friends who do NOT dress modestly, I do not like it at all but I tell my girls they can not wear skirts that show their thighs even though their friends do. Having dinner with a friend is different when someone is on their cell phone most of the time. It is rude and wrong - I have and will correct them. If I have to find childcare then drive 45 minutes to get to a restaurant I expect the friend to spend some time with me. I do not think this is unrealistic or mean. If anything they are mean because I used my limited childcare availability to see them and they are ignoring me. When did ignoring someone become "okay"? If that is the way our society is going, as with clothing sytles, then I will not follow. Nor will I be friend-friends with someone who does. ** I am not talking about a friend who has something serious going on either (my friend was having boy-friend troubles). I would understand a friend who was checking in on her children, ill MIL, ect... not someone texting over an argument with her newest boyfriend. Rude.
  11. My children dont take naps regularly after they turn two... or they wake up! I would much rather deal with a crabby crying kid for the second half of the day then being up half the night :) Have you tried cutting out the nap?
  12. I do not think it is wrong to tell someone not to do something at your house or out to eat with you. A friend of mine did this - I flat out told her it was annoying. Why should I waste my time to find childcare and go eat with her when she is going to spend 80% of the time on her phone?! Some people do not realize how rude it is and they need to be told, corrected. An *adult* should be able to handle positive criticism and if they dont agree, then as an adult they can do as they wish but I will not be inviting that person over to my house or out to eat again!
  13. That is a great idea... I did Canada already so Brits are next ;) I have seen Call the Midwife and loved it! Downtown Abby always sounded good too, dont know why I did not think about that!
  14. I have run out of a TV series to watch... Can you ladies help?!! I really like shows that take place back it the olden days, with women having a leading part in it (like, no Andy Griffith, MASH, Columbo, ect). I have seen: The Waltons Anne of Green Gables Christy Little House on the Prairie Dr. Quinn Road to Avonlea Thank you so much!
  15. Jeans are horrible! I cant seem to find a pair that is not SKIN TIGHT on my thighs or butt... and if they are loose there then it looks like I have man parts between my legs because of all the extra material... I cant stand jean shopping, skirts are my new thing - they are freeing  Maybe there are the perfect pair out there but they are probably not in my price range...
  16. Does he pay for any of his bills online? Our electric company and car insurance have online payment in which I put down my account number and routing number. That could always be a place to look..
  17. I feel the same way sometimes! Know matter how much I regret the things I have done - I was a child and did not know better (nor was I tought any better) yet some family never seems to forget... Its nice to know I am not alone :)
  18. I think you can block her from seeing your wall - but still have her as a friend. This is what my dh does for a couple people, I dont have fb though so I dont know much about it!
  19. It is very easy for a child, and even an adult to be addicted to screen time. I think first you need to consider being mindful of your screen time when around your children... Are you looking at your phone before 3:30pm? To them they see you getting screen time even though to you it is just a quick text from DH. Sometimes to break people of addictions you need to get rid of it for days... Telling an alcoholic that it is okay to drink after 5pm is great but that would not solve his problem :( My children do not have screen addiction... but I personally feel I do and the only way for me to "not think about it" is to go more then 3 days with nothing (those 3 days suck too!) but after that I feel so much better and more in control. My mind is clear again! haha. It might sound extreme but there are so many negatives to screen time that I would really consider removing all screens for everyone during the childrens awake hours for a week, then work them in under controlled situations.
  20. You could tell him his grandchild will be pooping in a $45 GM fitted diaper with some super soft wool Sloomb covering it... Only the best for the best ;) On a side note - I spent way MORE money on cloth diapers then I would have with disposables... but it was fun!
  21. Do you have a regular sewing machine? You could always do a zig zag stitch along the edge. I do that with a straight stitch too and have never had problems with all cotton fabrics. Plus many of the cloth pads I have seen have a cotton or bamboo minky style fabric on them and from my understanding it has a bit of polyester in it (less then 10percent) which would also reduce fraying. I would love a serger... but the price makes me wonder if its worth it! I can do a lot with my simple $75 brother ;) Including making pads! ETA: Did you see that you can make them T&T style? I have done that and do not think it is THAT bad :) Though, as their website states it is not their first choice... I was googling "T&T" style mama cloth and this was the first thing that came up which shows the Days for Girls Kit instructions.
  22. So much "padding/foam"... that is the most important part!! I seriously just walk around feeling the cups until I find a nice big soft one... Am I the only one who does this?!!
  23. I like walmart  The cheap $6-7 dollar ones... I bought three last time I went shopping for them. I never know where to go, personally, all bras suck! I didnt want to waste money on one I probably wont like anyways. Walmarts are nice, they are holding up well (I by pushup padded ones...). I dont wear them 24/7 though... only when I leave the house - so maybe twice a week ;)
  24. We only have one 4G tower - right by the Interstate. That is the one tower that gave me ONE bar of coverage at home :D Yay!!! So much better then standing in my driveway with my hand in the air to send a text... haha. In my other post I noticed that Sprint/VM have coverage right at the 4G tower but if you go anywhere else there is nothing... which stinks when you are rural because the risk of hitting a deer, cow or buggy without a cell phone is scary :P hehe! If someone knows of a good provider in Northern Wisconsin I would be open - but verizon owns us all. Some friends have US Cellular but their phone never works at my home... and I travel too much through the back roads with young children to worry about not having coverage! What is the cell phone company you use?
