  1. It might snow in Portland, Oregon. Newscaster freakout COMMENCE!

  2. PSA: When you study something intensely, you are "poring" over it, not "pouring" over it. That is all.

  3. Changed my signature to "ds17", deep breath, sigh. *sniff*

  4. Good school day and decent dinner which means, of course, that the house is a wreck.

  5. I've got paint on my hands and my hair, but the cabinets are painted!

  6. Shocked! Sailor Dude and his skipper just qualified for a national-level regatta. We think this is good???

No. They will be flying on their own to Michigan and staying with a host family. Silly me. I was recently worried about a day trip on their own to a larger city.

Thanks! It's both terrifying and exciting. So grateful to all the passionate adult sailors that share so freely of their time and talent.

Oh Chris! I am sorry for both of you. Even when everyone is okay, accidents are still upsetting.

  19. Said goodbye to our kitty, Marshmallow, of 17 years. She died peacefully in my arms. She was a special kitty - born Easter Sunday morning, a pure white kitten to a pure black momma cat.

  20. You know a class must have a fabulous reputation if not just one, but three students arrive in the classroom at 7:30am to secure good seats for a 9am class. (No, not my class, but my DD was one of the students)

  21. Our day has been completely side-tracked by http://www.naclo.cs.cmu.edu/practice.html !! Thanks, Kathy!! ;)

  22. I'm so suggestible. Browsing through Cyber Monday sales, I see a "gourmet melon knife," "cuts thick rind on melon, like a hot knife through butter." Suddenly I've always wanted one. Then I start thinking, isn't cutting through a melon with a sharp knife always like cutting through butter? All shopping tabs now closed.

  23. Ran 2.4 miles tonight. Feels good!

  24. My grown-up son is home from Japan for a few weeks. We had coffee together this morning then he did the dishes. :D
