  1. I use them when I ship other things, and the rest I use for Christmas then recycle. Or at least I hope my parents recycled...we were at their house.
  2. Watching right now...I can't for the life of me view them in order...and I'm freaking SHOCKED at how much money everyone has to spend to be part of the "church" and the lengths they'll go to in order to fund this crap. Seriously? So sad for these families.
  3. I wondered if that was the case, also.
  4. Good point. Plus, medical stuff can change so quickly that stable one minute does not mean stable an hour from now.
  5. Oh, crap! That just took my breath away. I hadn't seen this anywhere else.
  6. That was pretty rude of your mom! She should want her grandkids to receive a quality education, which for you means school during this season. Undermining your plans that way was certainly no help.
  7. Got one for my birthday and we have a lot of fun with it! Doing all the things the PP's mentioned, plus she plays all the music I've purchased through Amazon. We got one for my dad as a gift and he's having fun with it. It's great for asking the weather, how far it is to such and such town, sports scores, when the next game is on and who's playing. Basically, it's faster for him to ask Alexa than to find his phone and look it up.
  8. Good morning! I was so ready to have a HUGE day and get the household and my business stuff back on track...but hubby has pretty much decided to take the day off. When he's home, not much gets done unless I can come up with a plan.
  9. I had no idea he had heart issues! I'd read he had pneumonia or something so I assumed it was from something related to that.
  10. Ahh...that actually makes a lot of sense. Plus they have the money.
  11. I'm glad you reminded me--I wanted to watch this but apparently have already missed some! Going to look it up now.... ETA: does anyone know why so many famous people are attracted to it? Does it talk about this in the show?
  12. Nope, not bratty at all! It's your love language so it means more to you than it otherwise might. I agree with the PP who said it's hard to give to someone whose LL is gifts. That's my hubby, and it's super hard to find just the right thing--but oh so worth it.
  13. Everyone keeps giving my hubby plates of cookies. Plates and plates and plates of BEAUTIFUL COOKIES! Talk about a losing battle.....
  14. We do our kids' coaches and private instructors. Probably will do the newspaper person but I've lost her contact info so may have to wait until next payment is due. We're also super happy when people include their Schwan's man  Other than that, we don't have "people."
  15. That is a serious injury! I didn't realize that could happen.
  16. My youngest wants a YouTube channel someday so she can do sewing tutorials and rake in advertising money
  17. Most bloggers I know don't really put their kids names out there, but either go with made up names or code names. Since my blog niche is moms rather than kids, I don't run into the problem too often. But because my blog is called SpunkyMoms, I just call my kids Spunky Kid #1, etc. My kids are at the ages where privacy is kind of important, so I only really post pictures on my public Instagram that's attached to my blog with their permission, and I don't refer by name. It really comes down to your comfort level. Never violate your comfort level.
  18. LOL, winning is totally worth it! I always try to win by standing slightly behind the kids and just mirroring the arm movements when I'm too tired (or uncoordinated) to do the whole body thing. Yeah, I'm a cheater pants
  19. I started emailing myself! That way people won't see what I wrote once I forgot where I wrote it
  20. For the youngest two--absolutely! Man...we'd have giant hurt feelings if we didn't. (Only as far as the kids care about the gifts--we sure try hard to de-emphasize, but that doesn't always work.) For our oldest, yes, we sort of do but I think she understands we still need to actually buy stuff for her little sisters. For my parents--sort of. Like some of the pp's said, moreso perceived value. Hubby and I, goodness, I never spend as much on him even though I try. I'm just not a spender, but gift giving is his love language. This year I had to make him return something he got me already because it was just too much money and I saw it when I was monitoring our checking account.
