  1. My sister in law, who has dark brown hair, always had good results using henna dye. It made her hair a very pretty, natural red; it actually matched my husband's natural auburn hair. Henna is made from a plant and doesn't damage your hair. If that doesn't work for her then I would take her to a professional. Red is hard to get right and very easy to get wrong. Red dye also fades very quickly so it's a lot of work to upkeep. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Do you have any pet food bags/containers in the house? Friends of ours once lost a hamster and months later found it alive in a bag of dog food in the basement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Autumn Butternut Casserole: Sauté 6 c sliced apples in 1 1/2 Tbs butter, sprinkle w/ 1/4 c sugar. When soft, spread in bottom of casserole dish. Season 3 c of cooked, mashed squash with 4 Tbs butter, 1 Tbs brown sugar, salt & pepper. Spread evenly over apples. Mix 1 1/3 c coarsely crushed corn flakes, 1/2 c chopped pecans, 1/2 c brown sugar and 2 Tbs melted butter. Sprinkle over squash. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes, or until heated through. You can make everything ahead of time, put the apples and squash in the dish and the cornflake mixture in another container. Then when you get to where you are going, sprinkle the cornflake mixture and bake it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I am an apple and finding pants that fit is a real struggle! I agree that low rise pants are a big no-no; fortunately a higher rise is in style right now and easier to find. I also understand the need for a high rise but with a shorter inseam: I have a long torso with average legs so I get tall pants for the rise length and then have to hem them so the legs aren't too long. For her age I think leggings with a long shirt/tunic is the best solution. Look for tops that have a boxy cut so they don't nip in at the wrong point. The other thing I would try is joggers. They are very "in" right now as street wear-I've seen women wearing them with a blouse and heels! They usually have a drawstring at the waist and it doesn't matter is the butt and hips don't fit exactly right because they are supposed to be slouchy. They come in all kinds of different styles, colors and fabrics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I am a conservative, evangelical Christian and I don't know anyone who is actually upset about the cup. I personally couldn't care less about it and I also get tired of the whole "War on Christmas" thing. I see it as a distraction from what is truly important and I wish it would go away. I have a hunch that the whole thing is mostly manufactured by the media and kept alive by Facebook memes that people won't stop sharing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. This may sound juvenile but give anything by Frank Cottrell Boyce a try. Our whole family absolutely loved listening to Millions, Cosmic and Framed. The guy that reads them is just awesome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Why can't your husband change his shirt for the pictures of just your family? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Ditto on eating enough. If you are an active person you probably need more calories than you think and removing carbs takes away a lot of those calories. You may need to start counting just to make sure you get enough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. My shoulder and neck muscles get very tight. I have had good results with massage therapy. If I could afford it I would go once a week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Mine was Orsono Bertram. I think he was an original Xavier Roberts one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. If you are interested in reading the Bible in a literary context I recommend the ESV. There is an ESV study Bible called The Literary Study Bible which is excellent in helping you approach the text in a literary fashion. The text is in regular paragraph form instead of columns which is easier to read and there are book and chapter introductions that explain what kind of literature the book is and what to look for in terms of structure and elements. I think you can get one on Amazon for a good price. ETA: The ESV is essentially the updated edition of the KJV. It retains the structure and form of the KJV without the archaic language. 12. It can take a month or so for it to be completely gone. My son had ringworm once and it took several weeks. We used Lotrimin on it and that worked great, just took awhile. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. For dark circles, I love Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle eraser. It comes in several shades so it's pretty easy to find one that works for your skin. I can't help with full coverage foundation since I don't use it but whenever I need makeup but don't really know what to try I go to Sephora and talk to them. They are great about letting you try out products and giving free samples. If you buy a product and end up not liking it they will let you return it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Do you need moisturizer? I have oily skin on my face and I don't moisturize. I cleanse and use toner and an exfoliant and my skin is the best it's ever been. If I used a moisturizer it would be an oil slick all the time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. I've been lurking here for awhile now and finally decided to join the discussions! I'm homeschooling an only child in Maine. We are making the transition to high school and I'm so excited; it's what I've been looking forward to the most since we started homeschooling seven years ago!
