  1. We bought this last year at our state convention. The Peters were there and were able to walk us through how they used it with their children. We just started it a few weeks ago and my boys love it (ds8 & ds7). You can use the trace pages that have blank spaces for them to fill in or the color pages that have all info. filled out and only need coloring. I only planned about 15-20 minutes for bible, but have found they don't want to stop. You can cover as much or as little as you'd like to each day. You are also able to use this as a stand alone or can you use your Bible to dig deeper and use as your "spine". We really like this and plan on using it for the next couple of years. It is a pretty thorough Bible curriculum....as thorough as you need it to be. Hope this helps! Karen
  2. No, you don't have to have the workbook. The workbook is only a written version of everything that the disks have on them. It is useful if you're travelling or cannot use a computer. (We travel alot so we have both.) Otherwise, it is not necessary. Hope this helps! :D Karen
  3. Thank you so much! Ladies, you are incredible. I just happened upon this thread and you have given me resources for helping my 8 yo with reading. Thank you again for sharing!
  4. :iagree:HST is what I use as well. I started with the basic edition, which is free, but soon decided to upgrade to the HST+. You should check it out at www.homeschooltracker.com.
  5. My boys love to watch Sonlight's Discover and Do DVDs. There are 4 total. Here's the link for the K video: http://www.sonlight.com/KS07.html We have all four and my boys LOVE to watch them all! :001_smile:HTH!
  6. Thank you so much for the quick responses. I really think that at this stage the 1/2 book will be unnecessary, but will take it one stage at a time. Thanks again!
  7. Do you need to have your child complete the 1/2 books? I bought ETC 1 and 1 1/2 for this year, but am now thinking that I should skip the 1/2s as they appear to be review and continue to 2. Any thoughts?
  8. :lurk5:Hope you don't mind if I hang out.......I'm curious as well.
  9. Anyone have any information on where I can find inexpensive school supplies? (ie. binders, markers, etc.) Possibly online? Please don't bother responding with Wal-Mart. I don't spend any of my money there...........
  10. This is actually a post for a dear friend of mine. She has a ds7 that is bored with Saxon; not enough "hands on" action. What math program would you recommend? She is willing to try anything....... Thanks!
  11. I have this same issue...mind if I hang out and learn???:bigear:
  12. I believe so, but remember I haven't done it yet. I think that most were saying they only did the oral lessons in FLL, so you'd do it a couple of days a week.........
  13. :001_smile:I will be starting both of these with my ds7 this summer. From what I've read on these posts, both books are important as they focus on different things. Most have said they don't require their ds or dd to do the copywork in both, but usually have them do the copywork in WWE. So, they only complete the lesson in FLL, not the copywork. Hope this helps....
  14. I will be using a similar schedule with my ds7 and ds5. It looks like I'll be on the right track! Thanks!
  15. :iagree:I used the Basic for a while(a free download from their website), but found the Plus version to better suit our family.
  16. :bigear:I'm all ears myself....in the meantime, could someone please tell me what "bump" means?????
  17. ...for all the replies. I appreciate the help!
  18. I didn't know there was an OPGTR website! Thank you so much for sharing! I'm off to check it out now......... Thanks!
  19. what readers do you use? Are BOB books a right fit or is there something out there that's better? This is my first time to piece together a language arts program...not sure what all I need. Thanks!
