  1. I use As I Am coconut co-wash and the biolage matrix conditioner equivilant from Sally's. I either use homemade flaxseed gel, or La Looks gel. For second day hair I have a water bottle with 1/4 aloe vera gel and water. It works well as a refresher.
  2. I have the backpack purse and I LOVE it. I love being able to put in on my back and be hands free!
  3. I use tap water everytime. I just boil it for 5 -10 min to try to get the chlorine out.
  4. We are taking the 2 day a week Geometry this year after taking the 2 day a week Algebra last year. My son is younger and the 2 day a week option has been great for us. Jann is so helpful!
  5. I have been doing this since a little before Christmas. I am amazed at how much curlier my hair is. I am using As I Am cowash conditioner and GVP conditioning balm, both from Sallys. I am using LA looks sport gel. A few tips I have learned so far is with the cowash, you really scrub your scalp with your finger tips. That is the only thing that keeps mine from getting itchy. After I apply gel I plop it in a t-shirt like square of fabric and then defuse after around 30 minutes. If you look on naturallycurly.com you will get lots of tips!
  6. I recommended the iPhone for a first smart phone simply because it is so easy to use. I love mine!
  7. My son is a 28X32 now and it is a nightmare to find. I got them at American Eagle 50% off. They put there jeans on sale pretty regularly, and if you catch it early you can find that size. I keep telling him he has to grow around before he can grow any taller because pants will be impossible!
  8. I thought Breaking Bad was very dark and depressing. I stopped watching it after 5 episodes.
  9. iTunes gift cards, chapsticks, maybe some of the male versions of stuff at bath and body.
  10. If you don't get anyone on the phone today I would go in tomorrow and ask to speak to the owner. This is a very poor way to retain students. Surely the owner does not want their business run like this.
  11. I made this for Thanksgiving last year and it was yummy! http://www.inspiredtaste.net/8597/ginger-pumpkin-parfait-recipe/
  12. I don't know if you want to go this far or not, but DH made a cover out of hardboard for me. He used 1 X to make a lip on the edge to keep it from sliding around. I put fleece under it and it has worked perfectly for 5 years. We can take it off if we want to use the table for something nice, but we generally keep it on. I love not having to worry about the table.
  13. My dd started smelling really bad at 8. I really didn't want her wearing deodorant yet, but one day after she had showered and smelled BAD after 30 minutes, I decided it was time. I got her some TOMs and it works perfectly. My older DS probably started around 12 and I don't know that he smelled that badly then.
  14. My neighbor has a doberman and a boxer. I would take the doberman in a minute! He is so calm and sweet. The boxer is very high strung!
  15. I have done this a lot! I love it. I shred it and put it in boiling water for 3 -4 minutes. When you get it out of the water you need to put it on a towel or something to squeeze the water out.
  16. When my oldest was 3 or 4, I worked one night a week as a nurse. I had a friend that I paid to watch him the next day so I could sleep. One day my son and I were talking and he said something about the fact that my friend L was "just a mom". I thought he was upset about that and went on to explain that before kid she was a teacher and taught school for a few years. When I got done he said, "I wish you were just a mom." It really taught me a lesson about what kids value. I am so blessed to be able to stay home full time and homeschool my kids.
  17. I have never had prime, but I think their free super saver shipping has slowed down a lot. I don't know if it is cost saving efforts or that they don't want you to get it as fast with free shipping so that you will pay for prime. It is a significant difference though. I used to get my stuff in 2-3 days tops. :glare:
  18. I don't think it will be bad at all. I actually had them a lot when I was younger and a podiatrist "killed" the nail bed on that side with acid once. It worked well, and I have never had another ingrown toenail.
  19. I don't know if you can do this for them or not, but my mother is hard to buy for too. My DH makes wonderful gumbo, so we make her a big batch and freeze it in individual servings. She lives alone and gets tired of cooking for one, so it is a treat for her to be able to pull that out of the freezer.
  20. I have a friend that has strict instructions to grab "the bag" if DH and I die together. DH and I went on an overseas trip this summer and I was so paranoid that I had my friend keep the bag in her trunk until we got back.
  21. I agree with the other advice you got. I will follow up with my experience. I also was a L & D nurse. I wanted to go on to be a CNM or WHNP. I love women's health, and wanted to empower women. While struggling with infertility (I had a 4 yr old at home), I decided on WHNP and applied to a school 2 hours from home. DH and I had worked out the details. I would have an apartment there, and get a nanny for my son. I was even talking to local OB's about doing my practicum with them. One day it dawned on me that I didn't really want to work at the time. Why on earth would I go to school for something that I would have to work full time at when I could stay home with my son (working PRN 1 shift a week)? I spoke to one of the female OB's and she said, "Don't ever go to school for something and become a slave to your education". I think she really felt locked into working because she had so much money and time invested in her education. I am so happy that I didn't do it! I now have 2 more kids, and don't work at all. I love being able to stay home and home school my kids.
