  1. 5wolfcubs, I have no clue how I missed your response from almost a year ago! But are you still in az? We should meet up!
  2. Hello! We just moved to Mesa, AZ a few weeks ago. This will be our first year using a Classical approach (we have used Sonlight up until now). I have three boys (ages 8, 6, and 4) and a baby girl (13 mos). We would love to meet up with some other Classical learners in the area! Anyone nearby? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Comic Sans! Yes! I knew there was a reason Real Science 4 Kids from BJU just came across as so homespun and amateur, even though the content was acurate. The graphics were hokey too. I'm on the lookout for a great science program, too. This thread is kinda discouraging... :P Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Hello! We have been homeschooling (using Sonlight as our core) for 3 years, and, having just read WTM, I have felt encouraged to switch tracks and become a classical education family. We will be starting our journey in a few weeks. I'll be using SOTW and the activity guide as our spine, along with supplement books, read-alouds, and readers. FLL, WWE for Grammar & Writing, All About Spelling, A Reason for Handwriting, Math in Focus. I think we'll do Prima Latina too. So my final curriculum frontier is Science. I just can't make up my mind, and I'd love your input! Here are my thoughts: -My two oldest kids are my main focus (sons ages 8 & 6). My 4 yo son tags along for the ride. My 12 mo old daughter is really easygoing and my reward for birthing and raising 3 boys :) -We really enjoyed our 3 years with Sonlight Science. I loved the living books (especially bios), their use of Usborne & DK books, and the experiments. We were disappointed by the dearth of experiments last year in Science D though, and Science E just doesn't seem to mesh with what I'm looking for now... -Berean Builders has caught my attention. The chronological focus appeals to me, as well as the frequent experiments. It's such a new curriculum though (and the course that would best line up with SOTW vol 3, "Science in the Age of Reason" isn't even written yet. Super interested in anyone who has experience with using or even just looking into BB? -NOEO. Just started looking into it. Thoughts/experience? -Designing my own? A month ago I would not even have considered this. But as I've been pulling together plans and resources for this school year using the SOTW Activity Book, I've realized how exciting and rewarding it can be to choose materials myself, and so I'm open to doing this for Science too. Wow, that's a lot. Huge thank you to anyone who can share thoughts on this! I appreciate being part of this community :D Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
