  1. I think whether 9th grade is late depends on the area. Where I grew up the first wrestling was JR high. Not all areas have club teams. We had new kids every year.
  2. People wrestle based on their weight class. I wrestled in Middle and High school one time they tried having only girls wrestling girls but their wasn't enough and the weight classes were adjusted to ridiculousness to make it work. Making weight can be a big deal and some places let/encourage kids to go to extreme measures. Like wearing sweat suits and running the weight off or taking laxatives so be careful.
  3. Yeah it's so frustrating. Our numbers are finally down and I would like to see friends. Their just no way to feel comfortable with them knowing what they have been doing. Knowing they don't wear masks with close friends and family that adds up to 50+ people. I am also supposed to be comfortable going to church because they mask for that. You know the day after wine tasting in the next county maskless 🙄
  4. Nope he didn't. He filled out a questionnaire and called the Friday before each of his possible 2 weeks.to see if his number was called.
  5. My DH just had a federal court summons but his number didn't get called.
  6. Wine and a Whiskey tasting clubs. Also all the ridiculously cute totally unnecessary toddler accessories bows , shoes, ruffle butts. She wears them but they are all for me.
  7. I'm a millennial whose siblings and DH are all gen x. I never related to Breakfast Club or really any John Hughes movies.
  8. Ours in a case with the other guns that have cases and are all on a tether lock thing. I wouldn't have problem with it being out in the garage with the archery stuff if we had a place to use it at home. We don't so it's just easier to put it with the others. I don't know where exactly my niece and nephews kept theirs but they definitely had access. They lived rurally and used them a lot around their ranch.
  9. Tuesday is the first official day without ALE. We have none of our curriculum which is nuts since it was ordered in May. But between publisher backlogs, shipping back logs and processing through the school being overwhelmed that's where we are at. So I'm scrambling to find books, documentaries etc to fake it. Somehow we don't even have the news year math and it's digital. What a mess.
  10. I've been called twice and I think DH has been called 3 times. As on received the questionnaire neither of us have had to actually had our number called and had to show up.
  11. I just saw this so, sad.
  12. I've only seen them on agt and I barely noticed them. The last soccer game I watched was annoying because for some reason both the stadium and the broadcast piped in fan noises.
  13. We have some that came with the charcoal filters. We mostly just use blue shop towels since they are supposed to be good and we already had a huge tub.
  14. We do need more test but if someone has a fever yes everyone should stay home. My DH is an essential worker and he is supposed to call in if anyone in the household has a fever. He can get in trouble if he doesn't. I late spring he missed a ton of work but it had to be done. I know not all jobs are giving people off for this so I get going to work. But school, the store etc stay home.
  15. The schedules here aren't quite all day on screens they get breaks for independent learning. Their is no difference in how much time the Kindergarten is doing 5 the grade. Which just doesn't make sense. I would never sign my kids up for this. Our schools start next week so we will see.
  16. Well that is kind of silly. They aren't allowed in the building here. When my dad had an MRI my mom came over to my house to wait since we live 5 minutes away from the center and they live 20 minutes away.
  17. I wouldn't but not because I think it's very risky but because their would be little upside for us. My kids and I are all able to borrow on Libby and read digital books or order the books and do curbside pickup. So we will continue to do that and save our covid risk for other things.
  18. Ours sounds the same. Except as long as we are at a doctor in our hospital system we do e-check in so you don't really talk to the receptionist. They have totally closed off the kids waiting area . The hospital is the same. visitors are still just parents of minors and some are allowed for terminal patients.
  19. My DH used to work full time nights and now does rotating shift work about half nights. Though he works 12hrs. We shifted our families schedule later to better match his also so the house was quiet when he was getting home. Melatonin, black out curtains, noise machine and ear plugs for him. It will be easier on him if you can keep the night shift schedule or close to it on weekends (or whatever days he is off) but he will survive. Get in the habit of scheduling appointments in the afternoon. It's become a special bonding thing for various kids to stay up all night with dad on special occasions.
  20. I never had problems pre-covid. I've pretty much switched to Instacart since things got crazy since we can afford the upcharge. I like that you can choose specific substitutions. My mom kept using Walmart and has had some interesting substitutions. They have also gone inside and found the stuff that was unavailable.
  21. This! The power to loose and bind belongs to the church. All the church has the power but in context and practice it would be the local church. It's your local people who are coming to you when you're in sin as outlined in Matthew 18. We don't believe a church can bind or loose any random thing just like ask and it will be given to you. It has to be within the will of God.. if you're abiding in Christ your will will match his and it will be done.
  22. I love it because I hate cooking. Also my energy is always lost at 4/5pm. I do a lot of just put in meat add sauce. Like seriously unwrap ham poor in can of Dr. Pepper don't think about it until it's time to eat.
  23. Im so sorry. Power plants of all varieties often have their own training and are open to hiring diverse canidates. Lots of former military in the field.
  24. Washington but we are doing county by county. So other counties do have sports. We are still very limited like no mom and me swimming because that would be to many people. Same thing with shooting adults can shoot and have classes but the kids can't because for liability parents have to be on-site but that makes to many people for COVID.
  25. Yeah wineries are big business here so I kind of get it. School here is a big deal for one district they have a lot of kids of migrant workers who are poor, disenfranchised and ESL so it's already an uphill battle for them already. Another district it's not such a big deal. My area is pretty much a disaster we have never made it past stage one. A few things have been reopened as a deal to get a mask mandate and later as a reward for following it. We just got curbside library pickup in response to our compliance.
