  1. I say Sherbert. I was just in the grocery store this morning and noticed the in the ice cream aisle the have a sign in the sherbet location that says "Sherbert". I never really paid much attention to it until I read this thread!
  2. If it's not a busy season it can take as little as 2 weeks. You can pay extra for rushed delivery though. I would try to allow for a good amount of time though. When I got my boys', ds4's came back with the wrong birth year printed on it. It was a huge hassle to get it fixed. We didn't have enough time to send it back, so I ended up driving to D.C. to the passport office to get it fixed so that we could leave in time for our trip.
  3. My boys taught themselves and have been at it for way too long. Ds7 climbs up to the top of the doorframe and hangs upside down. Sometimes I wonder if they are monkey kids in human disguise!
  4. I love going to the Asian market. We are regular Whole Foods shoppers due to ds's multiple food allergies and it's expensive to say the least. I'm always amazed at how when I the bill rings up at the Asian mart it's almost always less than $50, usually less than $30 for several very full bags of groceries. I'm sure the cashier's must think I'm a bit nutty as I'm always so happy when I'm handing over my credit card!:tongue_smilie:
  5. No you haven't missed it, it's going on this week. I posted about it here http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=292903&highlight=TRU I stocked up on Twistables, Pip Squeaks, and Construction paper!
  6. If you have a Costco near you, they have a similar drying rack. I think its a little more expensive, but it's also more sturdy and you wouldn't have to pay for shipping. The one at my store was like this: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11510163&whse=BC&Ne=4000000&eCat=BC|114|3327|74796&N=4018973&Mo=13&pos=3&No=8&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&cat=74796&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-US&Sp=C&ec=BC-EC40350-Cat1671&topnav= But it also had a tall line in the middle across the top to hang longer items. ETA, I think there is a coupon for it in this month's Costco coupon book too.
  7. The only one I have experience with is Growing with Grammer. It's pretty quick and painless.
  8. I got mine last summer from Athleta. I've also seen them at Dicks and REI.
  9. Yes, I think it's a really cute dress and I love the color. I would have her wear a cardigan or bolero jacket over it though.
  10. I picked up some Pip Squeak markers, Twistables crayons, and construction paper. They also had regular crayons in several different packs, washable crayons, washable markers, and some skinny markers that were in a big pack. There may have been some other things but I went with what I wanted in mind and tried not to look to much!
  11. I have a Bachelors Degree but have not really used it for anything. My degree was in Nutrition but my job was in marketing ( I guess the B.A. was useful on my application for the job). I withdrew from college while getting my Masters to follow hubby around for his career (different state) and haven't been back to work or school since.
  12. At that time there was a much larger percentage of Hindus in Bangladesh, however many Muslims were also killed during the genocide. I edited my post right after I posted to be more accurate. The main targets were the Hindu Bangladeshis, from what I've learned about this is that the Muslims were more a "random" killing. If the army felt like killing them they did, if they felt like letting the live they did. Why kill their own? From what I understand, the Bangladeshi Muslims were of a different sect. But it was always death, torture, etc for the Hindus. The term gendercide is used mostly because the proportion of men, boys, and male babies killed was greater than the woman. During the first phases of their attacks, they targeted men and boys. Killing off the men would aid in the extermination of the peoples. The woman and girls were often taken back to the army barracks as slaves and raped repeatedly until later death. .
  13. Genocide. The Pakistani gov't tried to wipe out the entire Bangladeshi peoples. According to the Genocide Convention defined by the UN in 1948: “any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group as such: (a) Killing members of the group, (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group, © Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part, (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group, (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group." I would define mass murder as more along the lines of a randomized killing spree.
  14. Yes, I see that I did make the answers a bit confusing. Sorry, I do mean to ask if it is considered to be common knowledge?
  15. I didn't but if I had the chance to do it over again, I would have.
  16. I don't think it would be appropriate, but I could understand if it were the bride's first marriage and the groom's third.
  17. I got some nice wall maps from Costco a few years ago. I'm pretty sure they sell them during "back to school" season every year. They might also have them online.
  18. I would think that even if your dh could work from home, he is still working, thus you would still be the primary caregiver.
  19. Is the Bangladeshi Genocide common knowledge? 1. Yes 2. No (This is my first poll and I'm not sure if I've done it right!)
  20. We always wear them to outdoor pools and spraygrounds. We don't wear them at indoor pools. Ds6 wears his rashguard to swim team practice but not when he is in the meets. I don't really care if it slows him down at this age. The rashguards protect the skin from the sun and I like not having to spread sunblock (extra chemicals) on him so much.
  21. There was a discussion about this on our local natural family living group. A couple of people had said that they had found an aromatherapist that put together a spray of certain essential oils that helped clear up the issue within a month. Perhaps you could find an herbalist or aromatherapist near you and see if they have a remedy?
