  1. I test drove one over the weekend and REALLY liked it. I would love to have opinions on this model but don't know anyone personally that drives this. I'm also looking at a Toyota Highlander.
  2. That was great information! Thank you!!! I appreciate all your responses.
  3. I'm interested in getting a bread maker and DH is gluten free. I was wondering how the bread tastes and if it's better than store bought gluten free bread? I'm specifically looking at the Cuisinart brand with the GF bread making option.
  4. We openly talk to our kids about drugs often. Honestly, I think one of the best things you can do is let your kids watch Cops episodes. We've let them watch some the last few years and it actually shows them how messed up people are from doing drugs and just how bad they look. I think by allowing them to see stuff like this, it makes it "real" vs. us just telling them random things about how bad it is for them. There was also a documentary on cable last year that they watched about a heroin addict. It's sad that we feel the need to do this, but unfortunately this is the world we're living in now. Kids need to be informed and you can't just think sheltering them from these topics is ok IMO.
  5. I thought of another one. This isn't a secret weirdness but my pantry is super organized and everything MUST be facing forward. If I notice someone has moved a canned good around I'll stop and fix it.
  6. YES! This is me. I need a fresh clean kitchen before I start cooking. :)
  7. My daughter is in 7th and boys are in 6th. They started PS this year and it has been WONDERFUL. They love it and I am very pleased with it. We do live in one of the top districts in our state so I'm sure that makes a difference. It's been the best decision I've made in a long time. Unless you're living in a bad school district it might be worth trying.
  8. I can't go barefoot, not even around my own home. I have to wear flip flops or something but I can't stand bare feet on the floor. I will put my house shoes on even if I get up during the night to go to the bathroom. Oh and I absolutely will not EVER sit on a public toilet. Only at my own home.
  9. Try going to decaf and then eventually to Teeccino. It's a caffeine free herbal coffee.
  10. My husband is gluten free so I make a gluten free dinner every night so we can all eat together (I don't want to make separate meals). He likes Canyon GF bread which can be bought at Whole Foods Mkt and Target. Also, Barilla has a really good GF pasta. Stubbs BBQ sauce is good. You'll have to be careful with sausage, bacon and ham etc... Jimmy Dean makes a GF sausage and I get Hormel Natural bacon. You really have to learn to read labels!!! If something has broth in it then it may not be GF. You have to specifically look for canned soups that are GF. Mints and gum can also have gluten. My husband is so sensitive to it he can eat a mint and know within a short time that something is wrong.
  11. If forgot to mention that we didn't throw everything down the disposal either. We did scrape our plates after eating meals for the bigger stuff. DON'T PUT EGG SHELLS down the disposal. Mine had to be fixed after doing that numerous times. They also say don't put coffee grinds down it.
  12. Our old house had one but this one doesn't because we're on septic. I miss it very much even after 4 1/2 years. I HATE taking disgusting food in the strainer and carrying it over to the garbage can. So nice to just push it down the disposal and clean the sink. Also, I am the only one that will toss the food left in the sink because everyone else is too grossed out.
  13. I prefer a laptop because I'm a very fast typer. The touch screen drives me crazy after a while. Tablets have their purpose which I think is more for reading, videos, apps etc...
  14. I wouldn't do it. That's a long time considering you don't have a fenced in area and your cat won't be happy about it. They should understand.
  15. I love anything to do with decorating and was just curious if anyone else here does. If so, do you follow any blogs or Instagram? :001_smile:
  16. :001_smile: I didn't even know there was such a thing. You're probably find by now. All I did was wash their bedding and treat their heads. I put their bed pillows in the dryer on high heat. All stuffed animals, throw pillow and throws I piled in a corner and they weren't allowed to use them until this was over. Lice can't live off the head after a certain amount of time. I'm thinking 2 days but that may not be correct.
  17. I would do the mayo treatment on all of them. Put real mayonnaise on all of their heads and a shower cap and let them sit and play games or whatever for a few hours.
  18. Workout at home Unload dishwasher Wash boys' bedding Office paperwork Bank Vet Pick up daughter from after school math tutoring
  19. Keep a pack of wet wipes in the car. A grocery cooler bag at all times in the car. An over the door cloth shoe organizer in the laundry room so the kids can keep gloves, hats and shoes in there out of the way and not lost. http://www.containerstore.com/s/closet/shoe-storage/hanging-shoe-storage/20-pocket-eco-fabric-overdoor-shoe-bag/123d?productId=10031832 This on the inside of the bathroom linen closet to store all kinds of products etc... http://www.containerstore.com/s/white-elfa-utility-pantry-door-wall-rack-solution/d?productId=11001393&q=door%20solution
  20. We have a commercial grade treadmill and really like it. We wear the safety strap so if we fall it will shut the machine off.
  21. Worked out. Took down the outside Christmas lights and later I cooked our New Year's Day tradition of fried cabbage, black eyed peas, bacon, cornbread and cooked apples. We watched a family movie together.
