    Accutane?

I was on Accutane twice. First time was in my teens and I took it for 6 months. The only side effect was dry skin and chapped lips. My acne gradually returned and I did a second 6-month regime in my mid-20s. Only side effects were dry skin and chapped lips. I've never had an issue since and I'm in my 50s.
  2. Praying you and your family are ok.
  3. I'm glad your Mom's surgery went well. Praying that both your Mom and Dad continue healing a step at a time.
  4. I am sorry. Praying for your aunt and your family.
  5. I hear you and I get it. And I hope my children will do the same and for similar reasons.
  6. We have loved every one of these glitter bomb videos. 🙂
  7. Ahhhhh normalcy! The monolith returns! Thank you!
  8. Yikes. I'm sorry and hope everyone recovers especially your brother and that your parents don't get it.
  9. It was definitely a dud this year. I go to the same places year after year and they have similar sales year after year. But not this year! Deals were scarce and some products were scarce.
  10. Wow y'all. What is it about holidays to make everything go crazy? We were supposed to have lunch at my parents at 1:00 with 12 people but their sink faucet busted at the supply line and flooded their kitchen about 11 this morning. My brother ran over to cut it off and get the water cleaned up. Then we abruptly switched to my brother and sister-in-law's house for lunch and only ate about 30 or 45 minutes later than planned. Whew!!! Fortunately we have an extra new kitchen faucet in our basement so my husband is replacing my parents' broken faucet tonight. Happy Thanksgiving y'all!!! I hope the new oven works great for a long time and everyone sick gets better!!!! Edited to correct spelling.
  11. Not too much since we are taking only a few dishes to my parents' house. I'll start with gluten-free roll recipe #2. If it's awful, I'll make regular wheat overnight rolls tonight. (I've got a couple of frozen GF rolls in the freezer for my daughter just in case.) Thaw creamed corn. Prep brussels sprouts tor Thursday morning cooking. Prep green beans for Thursday morning cooking. Make Rice Krispie treats in a normal pan. Make a second batch of Rice Krispie treats to be formed into turkey legs on pretzel rods that have been dipped in melted white chocolate. Pre-measure rice for the Instant Pot. I'm tempted to make the green beans today and see how they taste. My Dad has developed vertigo from Menniere's disease and has a reduced sodium diet which is really hard to make taste good. I tried making the green beans with low-salt vegetable broth yesterday and we ate them although we didn't really like them. For tomorrow, I got low-salt chicken broth hoping that would make them more palatable.
  12. I am currently using AAR with a 10yo who was delayed in reading because of eye convergence issues which were corrected with vision therapy. We absolutely love it. I used inexpensive Phonics Pathways with my 12yo and it worked perfectly fine for her. However, she sees what my son and I are doing with AAR and often comments that she wished she could have used it. And I will pull her over to learn alongside us every couple of weeks or so for something she didn't get taught. Not a reading concept but something fun like the names of all the groups of animals or something like homonyms. My 12yo has read all the books that go with AAR. My 10yo has enjoyed all the stories even though he is an older learner. We sped through AAR levels 1-3 during his 3rd grade year and we are going slower with AAR4 for his 4th grade year. Last year, my son loved all the daily games and activities. Being 10 this year, he doesn't love them as much but doesn't object to them at all. And again - for something I know my daughter hasn't done, I'll have her come do the game or activity too. Looking back with today's knowledge, I'd have bought AAR to use with my daughter.
  13. What is the brand of your latex mattress? We have one and have loved it for 10 years and it's time to replace. We've liked the latex because I'm a side sleeper and sleep hot and my husband moves a lot (which I don't feel). The company where we bought ours has gone out of business.
  14. YouTube. Diane in Denmark. Bob and Brad (the most famous physical therapists on the internet - in their opinion of course!). But First, Coffee. Say Yes to the Dress. Dr. John Campbell. Gary Pilarchik (The Rusted Gardner). I like a variety!
  15. I like the humane traps too. And my husband prefers the standard traps. LOL. Whenever we notice droppings, I try and get the humane traps out first. If we catch a critter, my kids are more than happy to take him across the creek and release. They are soooo cute!!!
  16. Our neighborhood stinks for trick-or-treating so here's what we do. First we like to treat the kids in our neighborhood so we have lots of candy to hand out and we decorate with tons of lights and either a fog, bubble or snow machine. It helps that my husband is in the AV industry and can get demo gear to borrow every year. We usually get carloads of kids either early as they leave the neighborhood to go somewhere else or late on their way back home. Second we like for our kids (now 9 and 12) to get to do something but that varies every year. Sometimes I will take them ahead of time to a county park trick-or-treat or a community garden trick-or-treat. This year my husband and I will split up for a little while on Halloween night - one to stay at the house and hand out candy and one to take the kids to a nearby posh neighborhood that has lots of houses close to the street. They are meeting up with another family doing the same thing. And almost nobody stops at our house between 6:30 - 8:00. Most of our visitors either come by 5:00-6:30 or 8:00-9:00. We shut it down at 9:00. It is LOADS of fun every year. Halloween is not my favorite holiday but I love doing this every year. Last year we made a huge Covid candy chute out of decorated PVC pipe so nobody had to come closer than 6 feet. It was an absolute blast.
  17. Still check. Ages 12 and 9.
  18. Instant Pot frozen chicken tenders, rice and canned green beans Browned ground beef mixed into jarred marinara sauce, pasta and canned corn Breakfast sausage patties, rice, canned tomato/okra gumbo and canned black-eyed peas Frozen shredded chicken mixed with BBQ sauce, canned baked beans and canned corn (or frozen creamed corn) Frozen GF chicken tenders, pasta, marinara sauce and canned English peas The formula I follow when I'm tired, out of sorts, out of ideas, out of time, etc. is any meat + rice + any canned veggie. We eat the above over and over and over. Hmmm. Looks like we eat too many canned veggies!
  19. Do you have a sewing machine? Quilter's cotton makes awesome, soft napkins.
