  1. I used to work with a woman whose daughter was named Jane. While on the phone with a client I had this conversation: Client: ....oh, hey. Is this Jane's mom? Me: yup, this is Jane's mother.... wait.... no! This is NOT Jane's mother! Omg, I have no idea why I said that 🤦‍♀️ All while standing next to Jane's actual mother who was cracking up so hard she couldn't talk. Oops Or there was the time I had newborn twins. l woke up one night and thought I was holding one so went to put that baby in the bassinet and found myself looking down at two sleeping babies. Thinking I wwas actually holding a baby I freaked out! I thought I actually had triplets and had forgotten about one. I was, in fact, hugging my own breasts 🤦‍♀️ At least I can blame sleep deprivation on that one 🙄
  2. I developed preeclampsia with my twins All the doctors I saw during that pregnancy said it was not necessary to test unless I was symptomatic so they refused to do a simple test just incase. I was put on bed rest at 33wks, delivered at 36 wks when my water broke, my bp skyrocketed, and I had an emergency section. After I delivered not a single dr that monitored my pregnancy would see me for a follow up appointment. I was lucky I had a family Dr at the time who monitored me for 6mo but I hate to think what could have happened if I hadn't had that.

  6. In Alberta they've had to combine PCICU and PICU rooms to make room for more ICU patients. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/7-pediatric-patients-relocated-from-stollery-icu-for-covid-19-patients-1.5848494 "The move means patients and parents in the PICU will no longer have a private room equipped with a couch for parents to sleep on, among other amenities. Those patients will now be in two-person rooms in the PCICU with only one visitor allowed per patient. It also means there may not be a chair available for parents who wish to stay with their child overnight."

  8. A modern rigorous secular Charlotte Mason style curriculum. I think I may have found it in Ursa Minor but they only have grades 7-12 finished.

  10. I can't stand the story in the Life of Fred books. It irritates me so much I can't appreciate it as a math curriculum.
  11. Small Is Beautiful by E. F. Schumacher. Not for kids but an interesting read for an adult who is familar with basic Economics.
