  1. MarkT, Thanks a lot. Those are plenty. I'll check them. Kendall, The title of my book is "Calculus of a single variable, Early Transcendental Functions", 5th edition ISBN-13: 9780538735520. Please send me a copy of the assignments you are using. As always this forum is so helpful. I appreciate your time in sharing these resources and advice. Thank you. Sri
  2. No. The isbn on my Larson 5th edition book is ISBN-13: 9780538735520. As I said earlier, I am open to buying other editions of Larson book with reasonable price. MarkT, do you have any course plans for the edition you mentioned?
  3. Thank you Regentrude. Yes, I tried on google. Some websites have only few chapters, others have some assignments for different text (not Larson), some others have assignments but the edition of the Larson text is not mentioned and the problems doesn't match with 5th edition I got. I couldn't locate a website that I can use it. Sri
  4. We like to learn Calculus at home using Larson 5th edition. Each section in this book contains hundreds of problems and it is too difficult for a student to go through each and every problem. I'm looking for lessons plans, homework assignments and tests that go with this book. Is there any one who did calculus at home and willing to share their lesson plans and assignments/tests? Or does any online provider sell course plans/tests (like Kolbe academy etc..)? I'm ready to go with newer edition of this book if I can get the course plans/assignments,tests,etc that go with this book. Please guide me. I appreciate all your suggestions. Thank you, Sri
  5. Stephanie, Thank you for your feed back. I checked PAH, and also looking for cheaper alternatives..
  6. Does any one have the syllabus/assignments that go with Raymond Chang Chemistry 10th edition book? (ISBN: 9780073511092) I checked doctortang website (http://www.doctortang.com/AP%20Chemistry/units.htm), but it doesn't have answers for the assignments for the 10th edition book. Also, the assignments include both even and odd numbered questions. I have limited chemistry knowledge and would like to go with solutions manual for this text. What solutions book (ISBN?) are you using for the above student text? Is the above text an AP edition or honors book? What is your approach? If you can share the syllabus/worksheets/tests or assignments, that would be a great help. Please guide me. Thank you, Sri
  7. Dr.Tang honors chemistry looks very organized and we may end up using that this year. Not sure yet. I have a few questions to those who did/ or doing Chang's chemistry following Dr.Tang's schedule. I'm not a Chemistry student and have very limited knowledge in that subject. My son is a 8th grader and completed one chemistry course from Coursera. He seems pretty comfortable with this subject. 1. To guide our students, do we need instructors solutions manual ?( or the solutions on the Dr.Tang's website are enough to go with? ) If yes, what is the ISBN? and how can we get one? I searched for 10th edition Teachers book but found no results. 2. Did any one use Student workbooks? or Students solution manual to accompany the text? 3. I noticed that the course outline starting from Unit 3 is missing, but we can make the assignments list using the assignment answers. 4. Anything that is missing on Dr.Tang's website, which I should take care of before hand? 5. Are labs feasible with me acting as a helper with out really knowing the subject? Thank you for the advice and the suggestions. Sri
  8. My son is planning to take AP Calculus AB and BC exams. What graphing calculators are you using/used for these exams? I checked AP College board and found a list of calculators that are allowed for the exam. Which ones worked best for a reasonable price? I'm aware that different exams (SAT/ACT/PSAT/SAT SUBJECT TESTS) allow different calculators. I prefer my son get accustomed to one and use it for various tests. Please share your experiences and suggestions. Thank you, Sri
  9. 3andme , Thank you for the ideas. I'll monitor ebay listings. Everyone, I really appreciate for all your support. Thank you for your time. ~~ Sri
  10. Plansrme and Kathy, many many thanks for both of you. Your confirmation that edition is unimportant is very helpful. ~~ Sri
  11. 3andme, Krugman's Economics for AP book looks real expensive for me. I may wait on that. Thank you for your suggestion.
  12. Plansrme, the latest edition of McConnell/Bruce Economics is 20th edition. That's the reason I got confused when I read you & few others used 16th edition. Could you please tell when your child took an AP exam ? That may help me to make up a decision.
  13. My son prefers to read books. After searching thoroughly this forum, I found McConnell/Brue Economics as the suggested text. Could you please tell what edition book are you using lately? Any other texts that are popular, please advice. Thank you, Sri
  14. Does any one have a schedule/lesson plan and or assignments for Larson 5th edition Calculus of a Single Variable Early Transcendental Functions? As Kendall mentioned earlier, the odd problems in each section are too many to solve. Thank you.
  15. That is helpful. Thank you Kendall. What is the other text you are thinking of? If we go for second text, I may choose AOPs calculus as we got used to that curriculum. I haven't checked others yet. If you're inclined towards any of the second text choices, please share with me. Thank you.
  16. I'm thinking of using the same text for my son. As my calculus knowledge is pretty rusted, I would like to have a solutions manual. I'm having hard time finding the (matching) solutions manual for this book. Some of them are real expensive. If you are using one, could you please share the information of ISBN # and also from where you purchased? Thank you.
  17. My 7th grader took SAT through Duke TIP program. Is there a way to find out the scores? CB does not let him create an account due to age restrictions. Thanks in advance.
  18. Thank you for all your advice. I just made my order at Pearson. Your feedback is tremendously helpful.
  19. That helps. All points are notes and resources bookmarked. Does Pearson teacher resource has syllabus & course plan? If Kolbe academy sells the course & syllabus plan for the Dragonfly edition, how are you doing with the new edition (macaw)book? Thanks.
  20. Many thanks to Debbie & Sebastian. I'll try to order the 2010 macaw book through Pearson. Before making an order, I would like to know what are you using for labs? Pearson/ LabPaq /Quality Science OR Illustrated Guide to Home Biology Experiments? Which one do you vote for? ( PS: This is the first time I'm trying to use Pearson. I'm not really a biology person but do have little knowledge to some extent in physics/chemistry/math. I'm also concerned if I could help my son with the labs using teacher resources or not. With highly experienced moms in this forum, I'm positive I'll get excellent feedback.) Thanks again!
  21. Thanks Sebastian. How can we compare the Texas state Miller Levine Biology (2015) with the general 2010 Macaw text? There's no information for 2015 edition. Did you find any on Pearson or somewhere else? If this is the case, which is better to buy? 2015 state version or 2010 general text?
  22. Did any one try to order the latest edition from Pearson? From k12oasis pearson website, I see MILLER LEVINE BIOLOGY 2015 TEXAS STUDENT EDITION + DIGITAL COURSEWARE 8-YEAR LICENSE GRADE 9/10 (ISBN 9780133303803) available with the status "In Print". {Is that the Macaw book ??} When I do a search from the main pearson website with the same isbn #, I did not get any results. Is the latest edition 2010 (isbn10: 0133690091) or 2015? I'm looking for complete student package with the lab books, study guides, virtual labs etc. along with teacher resources. If you please provide the ISBNs, that would be great help. Also, what's the difference between foundation, on level and core editions? I appreciate your feedback. Thanks.
